Should Religious Education Be Taught In Schools?

i do not believe in God myself. But RE that is tought in schools also teaches pupils about abortion, and morals etc ..... they dont tell you what to believe in, just help you to understand the difference between what is right and wrong.

 

Is that not a good thing for children?

 

are you saying we should teach kids that abortion is a right or wrong issue?

Yes I think it should be taught.

Children should learn more about religions and cultures to help them better understand the world they live in.

When it boils down to it war is started over religion, is it not better that they can understand the different beliefs.

Being taught this stuff does not mean they have to practise it.

Neither, but that they should be able to make up their own minds if they ever need to and to try and point them in the right direction.

 

My point is, that there are a lot of parents who dont do this for their children, like sex education, and drugs etc. They need to learn somewhere do they not?
