  1. Last time i played was Cataclysm, did some of the 5 man stuff and a couple of the bigger 10 man raids, but i was utterly bored out of my mind. Same shit, same god awful game engine, new expansion One of my best mates used to play in the top guild on Talnivarr (Crab People) and was one of the top warriors around (Souly). After 5 years of playing for 8-10 hours a day he finally jacked it in. He said raiding / WoW was the worst thing he ever did, and he pretty much just pissed away half of his 20s. Played a bit of Cataclysm and enjoyed the levelling (i did it with him) but we both quickly realised the big "Cataclysm event" didn't make the game any more enjoyable. We were both really excited about being able to fly in the old zones, but even that was a massive anticlimax. From what i've seen, the majority of the top guilds tend to be late teens / early twenties, still living at home with their parents, and most of them don't even have jobs. Yet, you couldn't meet a more elitist bunch of pricks who really do think that they are "better" than you just because they have superior items on their in game characters and spend X amount of hours "perfecting" tactics to kill raid bosses. Funnily enough one of the things i did enjoy was using the auction house. I think i've still got over 80,000 gold on my main
  2. Yep...WoW....perfect. If you're 12 years old... :-) I agree though that Skyrim does indeed need patching (as does every single Bethesda game), but when a game requires patches, yet still manages to exceed any other game in the history of the genre by an extremely large margin, it makes you realise just how special it is
  3. Well you must be one of the minority to not see it as groundbreaking! WoW is graphically dreadful, the quests are extremely repetitive and the game is fundamentally aimed at teenagers. Each to their own though
  4. Twonky, how you can call Skyrim, one of the most groundbreaking and technically impressive games ever "utter shit" and yet be playing World of Warcraft, which is the very definition of "utter shit" baffles me
  5. Watched Tinker Tailor at the cinema last night. Supremely well acted, but i was bored out of my mind.
  6. You may well be right Cret, wheni bought my Vertex 3, i just bought a new SATA3 cable to go with it. May not have needed to!
  7. Yep you will need a SATA3 cable unfortunately The stock cooler is fine up to about 4.5Ghz on the 2600K, any higher and you want to be looking at a more advanced cooler like the Prolimatech Megahalems, or the Corsair H70 No changes necessary, simply change the turbo multiplier from 3.8 (3.8ghz) to 45 (4.5ghz) or a more conservative 42 RAM can be a bit of a con, i always stick with DDR3 1600 RAM, as i don't believe there are any real world advantages to having memory any quicker I believe the CAS latency is more important than the actual speed of the RAM. Better (more expensive!) RAM will allow you to tighten the timings more, but again, unless you'er an avid overclocker, it really won't make a noticable difference 8GB of RAM will be ample too, not much you can't do with that. I've got 16GB in mine and i rarely see that maxed out, and thats when reencoding a Blu Ray, it stores quite a bit of data in RAM If you are big into video editing and don't want to spend much money, then i recommend 2 of the Samsung Spinpoint 1TB F3's in RAID0 I run 3 of them, and they are stupidly fast. Perfect to use as the drive for doing the editing on, really, really fast. You can get them dirt cheap too, i think £42 this week! Overclockers
  8. i7 2600K is an incredible processor. You can overclock it on the stock cooler to 4.2ghz without even adjusting anything other than the multiplier Good choice mate.
  9. If you're not going to be gaming just stick with the H67 I am assuming if you're not gaming, you're not overclocking either The onboard video is absolutely fine for pretty much everything
  10. Noooooo!! You will never claim back those 2 hours :-)
  11. Hangover 2 - Very poor. Drive Angry - 2nd worst film i've seen in the last 2 years, (first being The Green Hornet). Should have turned it off. Nic Cage was dreadful, effects were awful and even William Fichtner couldn't save it.
  12. Watched "Limitless" in Leicester Square, and both my wife and I thought it was absolutely superb.
  13. Predators. Not too bad but i wasn't overly convinced by Adrian Brody's raspy voice and wooden acting.
  14. Yep, after watching Harry Brown it made me appreciate living over here!
  15. Just watched "Kingdom of Heaven" Directors Cut on Blu Ray. Thought it was very good indeed, MUCH better than the original release.
  16. Blimey, i thought Robin Hood was tragic. and the Road just didnt seem to do anything, was hoping for more from BoE I think Robin Hood was decent if you didn't expect a full on action film like Gladiator. It was by no means superb but i quite liked it. I thought the Road was an absolute masterpiece. I've never had a film make me feel such genuine emotion. Book of Eli was awful!
  17. Watched the following over the last week or so Robin Hood - good Book of Eli - dire (especially compared to The Road) The Expendables - decent but i was disappointed Iron Man 2 - good but original was better
  18. I have to say, Anne Hathaway in Alice in Wonderland was one of the worst castings i've ever seen
  19. Damage - The Essence of Man (Lao you will like this!) Damage AND The new Expendables trailer. All males must watch this trailer. Male Twilight fans, please reach into your trousers and double check your gender.
  20. Watched Solomon Kane last night on Blu Ray Thought it was a good swords and sorcery movie. We need more of them!
  21. Watched "The Road" last night. Most realistic portrayal of what a post war/apocalyptic life would most likely be. As a parent i found it very powerful and a very emotional movie Highly recommended
  22. Makes me chuckle - George W. Bush, Queen Elizabeth II, Kris Kristofferson Why KK?
  23. Thoroughly enjoyed "IP Man", possibly the best martial arts movie i've ever seen (including Enter the Dragon and Ong Bak) Oh, also saw "Hot Tub Time Machine" - absolutely shite Alice in Wonderland - also stunningly shit Harry Brown - good Clash of the Titans (2010) - awful. All on blu ray (the IP Man quality was especially superb mind)
  24. Martyrs was well shot and for all it's horror-esque imagery it didn't "rely" on the gruesome to get it's shocks. However, part of me does actually regret watching it. The ending is rather clever though
