  1. Can I avoid all the Shoprite shite ?
  2. To be fair to Quilp, not everyone gets the Courier delivered. I work somewhere that has not had a delivery in 5 years
  3. I agree about the ageing population, but an island this size can not ever have the facilities to cater for all conditions. Our tax would be about 45 % if we’re going to cater for every medical procedure here. Far cheaper to ship us away for specialist treatment.
  4. Have not seen that, but 200 per week sounds like a lot. 40 per day. Must have risen drastically this last few years.
  5. A poster recently said his ( or her) mum did not drive. So from Port Erin to Nobles for her jab, would cost £70 in a taxi, round trip. That is what I call a rip off. Imagine just 10 people doing the same. That is some easy money. Poor taxi owners my arse.
  6. You say buses taking on the taxi trade ? Is it not better for the taxpayer to have a minibus pickup 8 people for the airport than pay for 8 taxis ?. I know the answer.

Just seen that this is the second thread with the same title.

    TT 2022 ??

Yes. They are in my view far safer and a lot more interesting to watch. Every TT and MGP many will see some hapless soul die for his sport. There are deaths at short circuits, yes, but not everytime an event is held. Lots of big money sponsors keep well away, as not wanting to be associated with that sad fatal toll. That is one big difference. The only thing the TT has over short circuits, is that “fans” can ride the same piece of tarmac, for whatever reason. ( though that will surely change). Have to say I have never longed to drive on the same roads as the rallies use, even though I am a massive rally fan.
  9. If only that were true. Can’t see the vac rollout being the end if it at all, just an easing.
  10. You’ll have to excuse me leaving this here before I say what I want to about your ignorance. Early doors before I upset the snowflakes.
  11. Never said office staff had to wear masks, goggles or anything else. Nursing staff do and when working 13 shifts have the scars to show it. Admin staff do have contact though with frontline staff.
  12. Some wear “ the gear” for so long they get blisters on their face after 13 hours without being able to remove it. You should try it before judging.
  13. Don’t agree, sorry. He is often polite to idiots, by saying, “ I will look into it” instead of just dismissing the idiocy . Bit like Fawlty dismissing Sybil.👍
  14. I tend to agree as Andy Wint does come across as patronising and condescending, but having said that, can hold his own on many subjects, as he is very knowledgable on so many things. It will take someone smarter than this fella today, to out smart AW. I was pissed off when he was given SP’s slot, but having seen how much Stu enjoys his late night show, it was a good move and suited both hosts. I really enjoy the late show, with mostly sensible text message senders into the show and not many snowflakes taking offense . I wish them both well.
  15. Total agree. I couldn’t name all groups but I should have added an “ etc,” Sorry
  16. The caller had as much clout as you or I on here using false names. Andy Wint ( I am no fan) won that exchange.
  17. I would hope all doctors, nurses, HCAs, porters, domestics, even admin staff in hospitals, care homes and clinics were all given priority. If they are all healthy, they can look after us all. If they all fall ill, we ( esp. the old codgers) can’t look after them .
