There’s plenty of jobs in retail & hospitality. There’s far too many of latter although there’s many cafes in Douglas seem busy all the time eg the caff, buttery, capones , downtown, villa cafe particularly when wdathyis nice , a cafe & probably many others

The new regulations are to comply with AML , KYC standards etc. I’m involved with a few and it is more work as annual accounts, UTD information required. However there were many 000s of obselete charities registered, may more being set up for one off collections etc, fraudulent ones etc. Most well run charities don’t have a problem.

It’s the unions who won’t agree to any change in T&Cs to allow more streamlining of process, because they know it could lead to their members getting the chop!. Same unions demanding inflation busting rises plus 2% in case any of their members may have to pay more tax! These unions are not representing nursing/medical staff, police or teachers just the vast majority of other civil servants like the legions in cabinet office, DFE ETC.

I’ve seen several large vans with loads of obviously work rubbish from house renovations being unloaded by people who are not the house owner at Douglas site not being questioned by staff who they obviously know!!
