  1. I watched it last night. I thought it was really awful. Corny and as badly acted as the original series. Disappointed as I'd heard good things about it.
  2. I thought that too. Pants movie though.
  3. Saw Angels & Demons. Thought Forrest Gump looked a bit fat. It wasn't a bad thriller but the ending is hilarious. Spoiler: Good man Fadder Paddy. Just as well you mentioned your time training as a helicopter pilot!
  4. Seen Knowing recently with Nic Cage. Average stuff with some dodgy FX and even dodgier lines and held together really badly by Cage's usual ham acting. The ending is LOL funny. I don't think they meant it to be.
  5. The Worst Kung Fu Movie Auditons EVER!!
  6. http://www.theonion.com/content/video/sony...stupid_piece_of NSFW
  7. The Benjamin Button yoke. Snore city. Don't waste your time. Instead watch The Hunt For Gollum. A brilliantly made indepedent and not-for-profit movie made by a group of enthusiasts. Superb stuff.
  8. It's on Border tonight (Friday) at 11:35. Well worth watching.
  9. Seven Pounds. Bashing your face against a pebble dashed wall for the 123 minutes duration of this movie would be just as fun and a better use of your time.
  10. One thing that really annoys me is that we (sensible evolution type people) seem to have acquired Richard Dawkins as our poster boy. He's about as arrogant and condescending as you can get. It makes me want to believe in all the hokum and fairy tales just so I can be on the opposite side to him and justify my dislike of him.
  11. Complain. If no-one complains they won't do anything about it. I went to see Quantum of Solace at a UCI cinema recently and there were some lines down the side of the screen. I mentioned it on the way out to a staff member saying that for the money charged the picture should be flawless. The manager came over, agreed (said they'd ordered a new print), apologised and gave me a full refund. Roll on digital projectors. When are they rolling them out in this neck of the world?
  12. Watched Traitor last night. Excellent movie.
  13. Me, Without You - on the telly last night. Thought it was very good for a "Manx" film. Anna Friel and Michelle Williams being semi-naked in it certainly helped too.
  14. Recently watched Felon - Pretty violent jail movie. Not bad. Not great. 6/10 Iron Man - expected to hate this but it was very enjoyable. RD Jr very watch able. Miles better than Dark Knight, Indy and other "blockbusters" this year. 8/10
  15. Maybe he runs a courier service?
  16. Went to see that a few weeks ago when my film of choice was full. LOL funny in places although I'm sure it's not meant to be. Appalling acting and script but surprisingly decent effects in places. Well they must have spent the 30 million budget on something. I watched 21 last week. Story of a group of MIT students who use card counting to fleece the casinos in Vegas. As usual Hollywood fucks up a good true story. Read the book instead it's called "Bringing Down the House"
  17. I thought Jumper would have been a far better movie if the two muppets playing the lead had been replaced by actors. They were appalling. Went to see Wanted at the weekend. Decent action packed escapism nonsense.
  18. I think it looks ok except for the access road to the car park. That'll cause problems for people approaching from the South and trying to cross over. It'll be a brave cyclist that tries to negotiate it... It should ease congestion though as old biddies will avoid it like the plague. And it'll confuse the hell out of most motorists who up to now think the quarterbridge roundabouts are targets and should be apprached at high speed while aiming for the middle.
  19. Walk Hard-The Dewey Cox Story. Some very funny bits in it. Cleverer than the usual parody movie.
  20. Based on a recommendation that was on here ages ago I downloaded Inside I'm Dancing (cos I couldn't find it in the video shop) Very good movie - LOL funny in parts with suberb acting. James McAvoy is excellent and nails the accent 100%.
  21. Watched "Made in England" t'other night. A pretty bleak but interesting film. Typical Shane Meadows fare.
  22. The Departed. Great movie with lots of twists. That's the second movie with Titanic Leo where I thought he was pretty good. The other being Blood Diamond. Settling down to watch Clerks 2 now.
