  1. Very sensible. When I was young we weren't allowed our bikes during TT, they were put away, and there was a lot less traffic back then, same applied when my kids were young. I have seen loads of children on bikes over the past week, many of them seem to be free to roam. Can't understand the parents, or is their attitude that ' no- one is telling me what to do ' ? I have also seen people I know driving like lunatics , what is wrong with them ? It has always been the same, with ' locals ' showing off ( generally to the amusement of the real bikers ) however the roads are now ' lethal ' please use some sense for the sake of your children , yourselves and others on the road. We should no need to be told by the cops, We know about the TT and should set the ' right ' example.
  2. I think almost everyone would back him for what he said. It won't do any good though having a dig at the most cynical, corrupt, two-faced, morally bankrupt country in the world. I can see regime change coming soon. In the Isle of Man , certainly. I think Bell would be well advised to keep his mouth shut, the English and Americans are big mates one week , can't stand each other's guts the next. Tying your colours to either is asking for trouble from one or both. It would seem that Bell yet again is getting told that he is an ' International Figure ' in Politics, by those on the Island who stand to gain most. For the sake of the rest of us, come down to earth Bell, keep a low profile, and spare the Island some of the the mess that is coming by just leaving quietly to where- ever you plan to retire. Make no mistake about it, those who you think are your Political friends will have forgotten you before the plane takes off and will be in pursuit of another gullible ' Yes Man ' with an ego for them to massage The 'special' Anglo-American relationship has been around since Maggie's day - remember her, Reagan and Spitting Image? Hardly an on, off relationship. Whether it is good or not for us is a different matter. I thought that the reason England likes to keep America sweet is because of the vast amount of money they owe them
  3. An ' open mind ' is a requisite on Forums ? I really did not know that.
  4. Been of here for a few days. Where are we now.? A Tax Haven or not ? and is Bell still on his World Tour , meeting the ( important ) people , and creeping to them. I really must keep up, moving forward.
  5. Only a couple of weeks ago , the anti TT crowd on here were claiming that the average age had gone up. All will be fine when our latest ' Advisors ' Vision 9 get involved, and we have an extra 40,000 fans at the TT. Another brainwave for making money doomed to failure. I look forward to the day when all these whiz - kids see there is not a bottomless pit of money, pack their bags , and hand the TT back to those who know and love the Event. Are Vision 9 into Construction ? Because we will certainly need a new Hospital to service their dream, and many, many new roads. As to the Manx Grand Prix ( or whatever Re - Brand it's given next year ) , it has always attracted an older group of bikers. The vision men are well on the way to changing this however, and if they continue ploughing money into it, the roads at MGP will be as much of a problem as they are for TT now. None of this is the genuine fans fault , just so - called experts looking to make a fast buck. Why? and does any of MANX Forums really concern you, I have no interest in what goes on in England, and would not dream of telling Englishmen how to run their country. I believe you dwell there, do you not , or are you one of our ' three months a year ' visitors.

  7. Yes , no sign so far, but it will happen. Has anyone ever been caught or prosecuted for this act, or were they ALL innocent , it was just coincidence that it was TT time.
  8. The Road Closures are probably for the safety of all those involved in dealing with the incidents, which I totally agree with. The behavior during the appaling weather last Winter, when some drivers were deliberately trying to soak staff trying to clear drains was one example of the total disregard some ' Local ' drivers have for those trying to make things safer for them. I don't exclude bikers, but every time I have been close to hold - ups during TT and MGP their riding has been impeccable . When the official figures come out for the appalling amount of accidents and speeding cases this year, it will be interesting to see just how many ' Locals ' have been involved. If previous years are anything to go by , it will be a lot.

  10. Mabye it would help if you got your facts right, instead of relying on ' wishful thinking ' . The shortage of Marshall's you refer to is with regard to the ' Pre TT Classic Races ' on the Billown Circuit and run by the Southern 100 Club. The ' shortage ' is partly due to a high level of ' unexpected ' illness I think, and the organisers say they would like another dozen or so willing souls to sign up. Knowing the Southern Club as I do, and the people of the South of the Island, they will have no trouble filling the spaces. Good luck as always to the Southern 100 Club and their wonderful organisation of ' The Pre TT Classic Races ; The Post TT Races and The Southern 100 itself. Known for many years as ' The Friendly Races ' they are indeed that, and attract a Top Class entry of Road Racers to all their events. Incidentally crowds attending the ' Southern ' have grown , and continue to grow greatly from off - Island fans as more and more discover the joys of ' The Southern '
  11. It's so clearly a government-written piece from the Court of the Tangerine Emperor, very unlike the normal, briefer style of Manx Radio's in-house stuff and of course government press bumph usually gets put out first thing in the morning. The way in which the first para is a misformatted sub-heading is also a giveaway. (Not that I'm disagreeing with what Bell said - indeed some of us have been saying he should take this line for a long time. However as usual he seems to have waited to be told what to do by Downing Street). Or more likely Athol Street , and the brood of Millionaires he has been nurturing over recent times

  13. How long did you have to wait for the Fog Warning. Back to the Clarkson videos for you my boy. It would be funny but for the fact that idiots like you put the rest of sensible drivers and their passengers and ' children ' in danger because of your arrogance I'm not the danger. It's fucking old codgers like you with your nose pressed to the windows holding everyone up that are the danger. By your self opinionated comments on all things ' financial ' I assumed ( as you plainly do ) that you were someone clever, with a Top Job in the Finance Industry. It appears I was wrong. By your replies, when disagreed with , it would seem you are just foul mouthed .
  14. Yes. But the bottom line is that all we are (rightly) doing is allowing a bit more access to information. Most of which existed already anyway really. 0/10 will be staying. The detractors are running out of reasons to keep chipping away. They have transparency, they have reporting. We're in business. It's up to other countries to sharpen up their game and decide what is in their best interests. What is stopping the UK making it 0% corporation tax? This sounds unsurprisingly , like arrogant panic, not unlike that being spouted almost daily by Bell on the Governments ' Mouthpiece '
