Edit: I must see if I can find an old uni essay on "The Double Standard" & "A Womans Work is Never Done" I kept most of my hard work (!) but some of it was interesting.
Im not allowed ordinary bread at the moment (doctors orders) and have to use gluten free.
A butty made with Ramsey bread would be like heaven to me right now
He who is the font of all knowledge here, or at least thinks he is, has just told me Foxdale had a bakery "Winkles" not sure if he is kidding me there, and also said Warburtons in Douglas, Caley in Onchan.

There were plenty of small bakeries on the island, but most were unable to compete with a particular large bakery and went out of business...

I noticed the small bakery shop is making a comeback in London the last time I was there.
Maybe we can look forward to a revival here.
Just out of interest exactly how many bakeries are left on the Island.
For that matter how many did there used to be and why have so many disappeared given the population increase?
