  1. finally got round to watching the watchment over the weekend...as a massive fan of the graphic novel I was a little reluctant but curious to see how it would come across...

All in all I enjoyed it, thought Roscharch was brilliant, the fight scenes were kinetic and well filmed, the love scene was uncomfortably hilarious and the ending was suprisingly good ( that was the one part I couldn't quiet visualise ).

  2. A friend of mine watched that at the weekend too, said it emotionally scarred her. Is that a tad dramatic?

Its probably a bit over the top, but its a grim ending....certainly makes for discussion afterwards....the rest of the film is pretty run of the mill.

so you didn't see the end coming? I thought it was telegraphed about 2 thirds of the way through.

I really enjoyed it though I must say.

  3. just had a bit of Sunday Kung Fu action with Fist of Fury :)

ahhh a bit of bruce on Sunday...top stuff.

Staying with the kung fu theme, i watched "kung fu panda" over the weekend. Amazing animation ( as you come to expect now ) and worth a watch. Jack Black steals the show!

Watched the Happening last nite, Mr. "6th Sense" Shymalamananmanamanmanan's latest offering. Brilliant opening 5 minutes but then kinda dawdled to a rather predictable ending.

  4. Can anyone remember the pool hall in Ramsey? It was ran like a pub for under 18's. Would be roughly 1986 (ish). Banging my head against a wall trying to remember the chap that ran it but he had a white RS Turbo and used to live in Kirk Micheal.

Was it Pip or something like that?

Can't even remember the name of the club.

PJ's behind the bus station? It was ran by a guy called Mike Skelley was a great place I fondly remember Street FighterII tournaments! :D

  5. watched Chocolate last nite. This is a Thai martial arts movie in the vein of Ong Bak and Tom Yum Goong, absolutely stunning fight scenes and a few nods to martial arts stars of the past ( bruce lee and jackie chan in particular ). If you're a fan of martial arts genre or just want some kick-ass action give it a look.

    Awesome!
