  1. I don't understand how it can be ascertained that he has shown no remorse. What was the general thrust of the interview?
  2. and that is exactly what society has done by taking this offenders freedom away. I haven't taken anything positive from it. And I say that as a hypocritical member of society.
  3. Yeah man, the drugs, man, that's what it was. I tried some once and ended up goading everyone around me. Who can resist the drug addled goader. Crazy....
  4. Who knows? It'd be like turning water into, err, water.
  5. Well, I don't know you personally, but I know for sure that you're a right Dick.
  6. Oh sorry, I was taking you seriously there for a minute! My mistake.....
  7. I just do. You know, deep down and that. The type you mention must be very rare.
  8. A Peel teenager has been jailed for three years for causing the death, by dangerous driving, of a 14-year-old girl from Onchan. Eighteen-year-old Craig Bridgewater was driving on the Switchback Road near Peel in March when he crashed a car, killing passenger Lucia Porter. The court this afternoon (Monday) heard Bridgewater was of ‘good character’ with no ‘previous convictions’ and counsel accepted he had not been driving more than 40 mile per hour on the night of the crash. Deemster Alistair Montgomerie addressed the court for 25 minutes before sentencing Bridgewater to prison and imposing a five year driving ban. I feel proper sorry for this kid. First offence, previous good character and he gets three years. Really, what is the possible justification for this stupid sentence? It isn't going to bring anyone back in this tragic episode. He already has a life sentence of guilt so why bother to bang him up? I don't understand it. On an island that boasts to the world about our maverick attitude to road safety, and almost begs that world to come and exploit it, isn't it just shutting the stable door not only after the horse has bolted, but having whipped the horse a few times just to make sure he got clear of the door? Stupid conclusion to a real tragedy.
  9. Well, they've built a stupid great prison and put a load of staff in there so they've got to put a few prisoners in there too. Which is quite difficult really, what with there being hardly any real criminals on the island. They'd be better off closing it and saving a few quid.
  10. Ooooh, spoooky. It's Mystic Manxie.
  11. Lol. The logical conclusion to that is to just scrap racing altogether.
  12. Well! I wasn't prepared for that.
  13. Bloody annoying little scouts in their stupid uniforms and their dyb dybbing, and their dob dobbing, honestly! If their own parents can't be bothered trying to prevent their exposure to what any idiot with at least one working eye can see to be extreme danger, then what's the problem? It's health and safety gone madly parental on it!
  14. Scoreboard fence for TT 2015 There will be a safety fence in front of the Grandstand scoreboard for TT 2015. It follows a health and safety risk assessment after the matter was raised by Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson. During this year's Festival of Motorcycling he stood on the scoreboard during a practice session. Gary Thompson says he realised more needed to be done to keep the scouts safe.
  15. Yeah, but when it does I'm sure they'll get a nice badge for it.
  16. This thread has had more than 33,000 views and 600 plus replies. And yet under the new policy announced yesterday here as a result of Albert Tatlock's bleating about spam threads, it would have been removed. Here's the op, the very epitome of qualification for removal. Can a Manx Forums user get any more hypocritical, or a policy more confusing? Or is anything fine as long as it is critical of the Manx government? In fact, has Manx Forums now become a vehicle whose primary purpose is to criticise our government? But is trying not to be seen as such? I'm beginning to think so.
  17. MHK jumps to defence of Steam Packet A long-term critic of the Steam Packet Company has become an unlikely ally. Onchan MHK Peter Karran has jumped to the defence of the company, which has been under fire recently for recent sailing cancellations, technical problems and accusations of lack of communication with the public. Not fair, says Mr Karran.
  18. Of course, you know what is is don't you? Lobster pots.
