    TT 2024

No where near the environmental impact of making 'green' electricity, and 'green' electric vehicles
  2. The government need to step in a sort this out as not acceptable. I must give praise to the easyJet staff, who couldn't have done more. They helped load bags onto the bus and had staff on hand to answer questions etc.
  3. Gat to iom flight tonight circled Ronaldsway twice (to waste time??) before landing about 9pm. All passengers for return flight were in departure lounge ready to board and just before 9.30pm the flight was cancelled!! The excuse was Manx air traffic control short staffed!!!! This complete shower of shit running Ronaldsway needs sorting out as it's a bloody disgrace. Lots of elderly folk on an organised holiday trying being pissed about because some arsehole won't work an extra half hour to get the flight away.
  4. I thought it was until they get into the league above, as that is deemed semi pro and all teams expected to pay own travel. Iom will need to start paying players at that level so will need all the gate money to help.
  5. What about the Market Hall - looks like Noa pulling out soon.
  6. It's been crap for years, too political, no overtaking, shit tracks etc etc, and don't get me started on the little pricks that drive!! I used to go to Spa in 90's to watch Senna, Schumacher, Alesi, Prost, Berger, plus all the Brit's, and it was brilliant. Absolutely no interest now.
  7. Thanks. It's nice to get information from someone 'in the trade'. Would it be too expensive to pipe it to the IOM and transport via ship? I imagine the IOM loading is quite high to run the power station and gas service, so not sure how much would be transported off Island.
  8. According to 3FM, Crogga saying they'd like to begin extracting in the summer of 2023. Thought you said it would take a minimum of 10 years, and possibly 20!!!! My uneducated guess at one year wasn't bad after all.
  9. Yes, the TT is subsidised by the government for the benefit of the tourist industry, much like i'd like to see invested into FC IOM.
  10. 1. It's the most popular sport on the island 2. Any performance improvement in FC IOM will boost players in the Manx leagues 3. If FC IOM progress into higher leagues, more away supporters will travel over and boost hotels / restaurants / bars etc and boost the economy through the winter 4. A successful FC IOM team will boost home support / income and will improve the 'feel good factor' on the island 5. A successful FC IOM team will give younger players exposure / opportunities to play at a professional level in the uk If FC IOM can progress up the leagues, and hopefully get into the English National League, i'd estimate away support will be a significant figure. Teams like Aldershot, Notts County, Southend, Chesterfield, Oldham etc will bring 400 / 500 supporters (yes, an increase in capacity will be required) over twice a month, and they will need a hotel and they will have a night out. 250 away fans spending £200 for 23 games is over £1m going back into the ecomomy!! Many will stay the weekend and hopefully tell their friends how wonderful the Island is, and boost tourism even further. I would imagine a turnover of £2m would be required in the EFL. 2,500 through the gate at £18 will give an income of £1m, shirt sponsorship £500k??, ground sponsorship £200k??, government sponsorship £500k??, TV money ?, FA Cup prize money?
  11. As i said before, i think they need an English manager with experience of this league and / or the one above. It will cost money, but it's the only way to progress. I'd like the government to help with costs - the ferry should be provided free of charge for home and away games, they could pay the hotel costs of the away teams and the stadium costs. Don't forget there will be a few away fans coming over for the weekend - watch footie, have a meal, few drinks, hotel etc. All good for the economy.
  12. I think Bass is doing fine atm. Perhaps in a couple of years time, they will need to employ a paid manager with experience in non league english football, and move forward from there. I was told that once they are into a higher division, they will not have to pay travel costs for teams coming to the IoM - that will be a huge financial boost that should allow the players to be paid part time.
  13. I'd imagine foreign players will be introduced slowly over a few seasons, and there's no reason why 3 or 4 manx players couldn't play at conference / league 2 level. I do agree they play quite direct football, but you have to play to your strengths. I watch a bit of league 1 football, and still plenty of teams playing direct football successfully. Jersey have shown the model can work
  14. I'd designate it as a World Health Hazard, particularly the bogs !!!!
  15. The Times reporting Johnson is to announce plans to exploit new areas of the North Sea for oil and gas reserves for the first time in three years amid spiralling energy prices No excuse to not move forward with the gas exploration in Manx waters. Get it sorted now.
