  1. You are right this new much younger guy is much more down with the kids.
  2. 'Efficient Public Transport' in the isle of Man that means blowing millions on under utilised choo choos, horsetrams and load of busses without enough drivers. just for the benefit of a few old codgers. I can see why you use this analogy for Manx Radio.
  3. Get a cook islands domain. manx.co.ck
  4. I am Juan and the other bloke that got escorted from the building and you can have your RAJAR £5 booze money. RAJAR surveying is weird you have to admit that. The fairest way would be to ask what radio had been listened to that day or the past 5 days, that would give a more accurate result. Paying them a fiver and asking them to go listen to radio for the next 5 days is going to increase the radio consumption as they will be thinking about it, so you end up with Declans ludicrous figures.
  5. The fact is you can't measure radio consumption, and so an industry owned non independent body has been making it up for years by visiting houses during the day when only old mental people are home and then bribing the gullible old twats with enough money for dilligaf and his like to pop down the spar and get an instant hit of booze. Only radio is measured by this yard of booze everyone else uses real data.
  6. Please detail the route for us uninformed locals,
  7. Yep totally crazy them trams totally rammed for a few hours each summer.
  8. Got hitched to befuddled and lived happily ever after.
  9. Nah, his wife just lets him fill out pointless forms, keeps him busy for days on end.
  10. You just have to be in when everyone else is at work.
  11. A bit civil today, you back on PubWatch?
  12. RAJAR is hardly a reliable source, they pay you a fiver to keep a diary, and of course what happens is people just don't do that they just tick a load of boxes so they don't feel bad for taking the £5.
  13. Once we get driverless cars radio will be dead, as you can watch tv with your feet up drinking a brandy on the way to work.
  14. You are deliberately misreading, I said the mass audience, do you know any families who sit round the wireless during the evening, no cause they bought a telly, that they now don't watch because they all have iphones. Most people listen for a tiny bit a day, for a bit of music and news in the car, it is only a matter of time before cars stop being shipped with radios and just have a sync with your smart device it might be dying slowly but it is dying get over it.
  15. Why is it that on 3FM and Energy the adverts are not that annoying yet Manx Radio carpet bomb crappy ones even though they get taxpayer funding?
  16. I don't doubt that Declan as most in the UK have lengthy commutes, but even then RAJAR figures don't take into account proportion of the day they listen, tune in for the morning news for one minute and you are a listener. My point is really if Radio is still a successful format as you and your mate Stu state then it can pay for itself.
  17. Where is your source for this information? And as for workplaces since PRS got more active lots have stopped.
  18. When will you lot face facts, it is not that they need to update themselves for a different demographic, there is no real demographic that listens to radio anymore outside of the 10 minutes drive to work apart from crippled old farts, we should not be funding a penny, we all know it's a mugs game advertising on radio, when you can get thousands of views with a video on facebook. Times have changed, Tv killed the mass appeal of Radio, video killed the mass appeal of cinema, the internet and facebook has killed them both, if you live in the UK you have to drive motorways for hours on end to get to work radio still has a future, here not so. Yet like all old outdated shit the iom gov just can't stop throwing taxpayers money at it.
  19. Stu is bound to play that tonight, if he does he will have my utmost respect....
