  1. Depends a bit. What's your payment platform? What's it hosted on? Do you need support? Probably going to be something like Magneto or OSCommerce, but rally does depend on what your doing.
  2. Terminus, but get there early or book, there's usually a queue. Highwayman in peel is good too.
  3. Thanks for that. Clearly avoiding the key question: 8) Do you think 4 million pounds of public money is justified on this single junction?
  4. Dunno. I was down the sea terminal last week, and didn't see it. Not sure if it's hidden away? Why isn't the whole planning process online? Be dead easy to do, stick em up on a page and allow people to register their objections or support for a plan.
  5. Roundabouts are crap for pedestrians and cyclists, the only real solution is to put under passes in, but that'll probably not be possible because of the river and the already busted budget.
  6. Your right, I don't. I'll probably flog one. Quite fancy a van as a 2nd car in fact, be able to shove the bikes in it The important thing is that I'm not using it though, even walked in today in the rain. Hero! I finally watched the 'woman who stopped traffic' series, it's been sat on my sky+ for ages. Interesting, particularly the last show where the city had gone to great lengths to reduce traffic, multiple very well specified park & rides, dedicated cycle lanes, bus lanes and still the cars flowed. One of the successes of that show was demonstrating that often it's just ignorance that stops people walking. People simply aren't aware how quick it is to walk vs a car over a short distance, that a 10 min ride in a car including parking can often be done in 5 mins walking. They also focused a lot on the school run, where parents said their kids couldn't walk because it was too dangerous. It was pointed out that not walking and dying of heart desease was a much larger killer these days.
  7. The carrot is that you reduce the number of cars, and we all have a better quality of life. I'm not that anti-car, I've got two myself. I just fekking hate driving, its a nightmare. There's too many cars on the roads. I can manage with one car, I've only got two cos it's cheap and convenient. If everyone else managed with one, I'd happily do it.
  8. Legislating one car per household would be an instant solution, and is perfectly manageable for pretty much everyone.
  9. The same figures have hit pretty much every economy of the world, you have some evidence to suggest the IOM is somehow immune?
  10. And it's this sort of sentiment that drives the price. If enough people believe the price will go up, it'll go up. It's close to a dead cert for commidity traders. 50% annual inflation of your investment? Yes please! Greenpeace should invest in oil, the rising prices have done far more for reducing consumption than anything they've ever done.
  11. Fuel consumption down 20% in 2008: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/main.jhtm.../npetrol111.xml Car sales down 8% in 2008: http://www.just-auto.com/article.aspx?ID=95030 UK DOT figures show 1st qtr 2008 traffic dropped 2% on average, and that's without the higher rises we've seen in the 2nd qtr of the year. See the price is climbing nearer $150 today...
  12. Exactly, the money would be far better spent on reducing car use, be it public transport, cycling facilities, car shares, whatever.
  13. Having cars actually on the roundabout will help, but it'll just move the conjestion into douglas. This design is better than the current two roundabouts. The islands will help pedestrians too. Nowt for cycles, of course. Worth £4mil of our dosh? Na.
  14. An oldie, but goodie always worth a re-visit:
  15. I'll put £5 on them having being drawn using crayons. And of course, no provision for cyclists. Wonder what the pedestrian provisions will be, current QB has naff all and with no pavement on 3 of the roads coming into the QB, it's a very bad spot indeed.
  16. Do you think that this will stretch as far as the Tesco roundabout? Personally I would prefer a flyover and underpasses - would look like better value for £4 million (still it's a lot less than those runway extensions). A flyover? On the holy stretch of road that is the TT course? Are you mad? We cannot have sensible solutions on holy ground. £4m is bloody silly, but the whole place does need flattening and one big roundabout put in. Or we could all just drive less for free..
  17. Prat needs his license taking off him.
  18. Woah, so you have, nice one Didn't see em because I'm on 'view new posts' view.
  19. Nice one. Be good for people to bump some of the old ones and get em moved in here.
  20. Or we could teach em to build something useful?
  21. That has to be one of the most boring hobbies I've ever seen.
