Well, I've just received Mr Mann's manifesto and to my surprise it's very critical of both past Government and Ramsey Commissioners. In fact, it's pretty strong stuff in quite a few points, that are very valid IMHO.
What he'd be able to change might be a different thing...
Did he call it his Mann-ifesto?
If not he won't be getting my vote

People don't follow every twist and turn of twitter spats, but they do get a general impression from such things and if that is one of evading questions and an association with general dodginess, it could be damaging. It probably wouldn't matter if there weren't so many candidates standing, which will make things more uncertain, though of course only the incumbents will have done much campaigning till recently.
I genuinely don't think the majority of Ramsey voters follow hooper on Twitter

I think someone needs to explain how party politics works to Lawrie Hooper. You can't just go "mimimi I don't want to play anymore" when one of your official candidates is refusing to answer simple questions on who his financial backers are. Of course will this reflect on the party he is part of in some way. To call simple questions you don't want to answer harassment is more than a little rich. Is this the way LibVan treats voters?
of course he won't read this post
But.... I've never understood his party politics logic, considering he is SO in favour of party politics I find it mad that when quizzed on party line decisions he basically suggests they are free to act independently.... so... what's the point?

Hooper does seem to give the impression of someone who has a real nasty side though from following his Tweets. If he’s not careful this repeated evasiveness in relation to Josem is going cause them a big issue. And that’s even before you start looking at their rather strange support for Peter Willers.
will the people of Ramsey care about Michael Josem or Hooper's twitter feed though?
tough one to gauge

How on earth does that website even work? Where does it pull its ratings from? Just looks like someone made up a fake review site to support candidates they like.
if only there was a link on their website explaining how

He’s an arrogant little man as his meltdown on the Josem issue showed yesterday. Hopefully someone wipes the smile off his face. He got over 1500 less votes than Allinson last time.
I think he's trying to get hip and have social media bants but he's.... Just not quite there with it

interesting to see the incumbents in Ramsey start to see the public opinion tide turn and scramble to get on the right side for election

Is it more due to Manx Radio's choices of venue? Their insistence on having booze near at hand has led to some rather odd choices. The Rushen one is in the Bay, which much as I love it, is about the worst venue for a large meeting in the constituency being so long and divided.
Yes I thought it odd considering Ramsey has some excellent hall venues for hire for basically nothing

Well I think it shows that people were on the fence but as soon as Lenny stood they all realised they absolutely didn't want him having a chance to get in so threw their hat in the ring

He's stood in every Keys election in Ramsey since 1996, win or lose, so he'd probably think he was standing, even if he hadn't.
Tynwald has eliminated the ages of members, and now even ex-members, no doubt due to the vanity of the current lot, but Wiki says he is 78 as the clueless lot forgot about web archives
78! Knew he was getting on but didn't realise he was that old

Interestingly, his greatest/only significant quality was that he is not Phil Gawne.
But Phil is not going for it this time, and is spending his time making various politics videos for Manx Radio mansplaining to Beth Espey. what it's all about:
I interpreted these videos as Phil Gawne was incapable of holding a microphone and talking at the same time

personally I think it's a shame that Rushen appears to have a relatively good pool to choose from whilst other areas are struggling somewhat with the options available

I notice now that, “He’s doing everything possible to ensure everyone is able to cast their vote”.
Isn’t it funny how quickly his opinion (and effort) changes when he sees that the GMP are a bit cross.
He's just saying that
nothing has changed

There is of course the qualitative and quantative balance - one suspects that Moorhouse could ask 10,000 questions and yet still fail to identify anything of value.

Town and country? It’s four miles up the road, not the Cotswolds and Gloucester. 60 years ago, when the bloke from Ballaugh might venture into Ramsey twice a year, fair enough, but not today. Both complement each other and need synergy
you've been away too long already
