Well, I've just received Mr Mann's manifesto and to my surprise it's very critical of both past Government and Ramsey Commissioners. In fact, it's pretty strong stuff in quite a few points, that are very valid IMHO.

What he'd be able to change might be a different thing...

Did he call it his Mann-ifesto?

If not he won't be getting my vote

People don't follow every twist and turn of twitter spats, but they do get a general impression from such things and if that is one of evading questions and an association with general dodginess, it could be damaging.  It probably wouldn't matter if there weren't so many candidates standing, which will make things more uncertain, though of course only the incumbents will have done much campaigning till recently.

I genuinely don't think the majority of Ramsey voters follow hooper on Twitter

I think someone needs to explain how party politics works to Lawrie Hooper. You can't just go "mimimi I don't want to play anymore" when one of your official candidates is refusing to answer simple questions on who his financial backers are. Of course will this reflect on the party he is part of in some way. To call simple questions you don't want to answer harassment is more than a little rich. Is this the way LibVan treats voters?

of course he won't read this post

But.... I've never understood his party politics logic, considering he is SO in favour of party politics I find it mad that when quizzed on party line decisions he basically suggests they are free to act independently.... so... what's the point?

Hooper does seem to give the impression of someone who has a real nasty side though from following his Tweets. If he’s not careful this repeated evasiveness in relation to Josem is going cause them a big issue. And that’s even before you start looking at their rather strange support for Peter Willers.

will the people of Ramsey care about Michael Josem or Hooper's twitter feed though?

    tough one to gauge

He’s an arrogant little man as his meltdown on the Josem issue showed yesterday. Hopefully someone wipes the smile off his face. He got over 1500 less votes than Allinson last time.

I think he's trying to get hip and have social media bants but he's.... Just not quite there with it

Is it more due to Manx Radio's choices of venue?  Their insistence on having booze near at hand has led to some rather odd choices.  The Rushen one is in the Bay, which much as I love it, is about the worst venue for a large meeting in the constituency being so long and divided.

Yes I thought it odd considering Ramsey has some excellent hall venues for hire for basically nothing

Interestingly, his greatest/only significant quality was that he is not Phil Gawne.

But Phil is not going for it this time, and is spending his time making various politics videos for Manx Radio mansplaining to Beth Espey. what it's all about:

I interpreted these videos as Phil Gawne was incapable of holding a microphone and talking at the same time

I notice now that, “He’s doing everything possible to ensure everyone is able to cast their vote”.

Isn’t it funny how quickly his opinion (and effort) changes when he sees that the GMP are a bit cross.

    He's just saying that

    nothing has changed

Town and country? It’s four miles up the road, not the Cotswolds and Gloucester. 60 years ago, when the bloke from Ballaugh might venture into Ramsey twice a year, fair enough, but not today. Both complement each other and need synergy

you've been away too long already

(I am not clamouring for your return btw no offence)
