  1. A folk singer named Peter Jagger (no relation) played several pubs in the early 90s . I saw him in The Tynwald and thought he we quite good. I bought the CD.
  2. Jerry Christian was the warm up act for Peter Green at the Gaiety. Jerry played very well, and got the applause he deserved. Peter Green was a shadow of his former self. The band carried him for most of the night with Green showing just a few flourishes of his brilliant playing.
  3. The Dylan Project at the Masonic Lodge in Douglas. (mainly the Steve Gibbons Band)
  4. About 7 or 8 year ago I saw a good local band play at the Blues Club in the Railway, Douglas called I Am President. I believe they left the island to seek fame in the UK, but that does not seem to have happened.
  5. Another local band from the late 80s and 90s were The Problem. Regulars at Busheys favouring Stiff Little Fingers covers. Simon on vocals and Lee Willis led guitar. Quite a few drummers past through.
  6. Gene Pitney 1990 at the Villa , Chas and Dave in the Gaiety , Nine Below Zero, Peter Green at the Gaiety . Screamiing Lord Sutch at Bushys also the Glen Helen organised by The Moddey Dhoo. Steve Gibbons band first at the Crescent for me in 1983 then very where. GASP supporting Meat Loaf I was one of the many who bought a ticket to see Rory Gallagher, but the organiser ran off with all the money.
  7. £4 for a pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord in the Beech at Chorlton cum Hardy, South Manchester. £1.75 must be in a Wetherspoons with a 50p CAMRA voucher.
  8. I'm 59 and I have some White Stripes and Jack White CDs. Age is no excuse
  9. The replacement expensive flats have a poor quality B&W ariel shot of the old hotel in the vestibule
  10. Having lived in Sarf London I found Harry Brown vewry depressing. I lot of old folk are frightened of groups of teenagers and going out at night is out of the question. It is a very good film and well worth watching because you can get right into the story because of the relevence to British city experience Liked David Bradley, he was in Our Friends in the North. Another execellent British drama
  11. English is obviously not your first language and you are not a character.
  12. Had a pint of Everad's Tiger in The Prospect tonight and I thought it was ginger beer.............strange, it was my first pint of the day. Never tasted Tiger like that
  13. Yup! The lads would meet in The Dog's Home and saturday afternoons for a few scoops then go home for tea. In the evening roar up to the Dougie Head, get tanked up then race home with many a crash and near miss on the way home
  14. Is there any way I could download the music on these sites, particularly the Prisoner intro?
