bluemonday
e mail just sent Dear Mister Teare At the weekend I received a letter with paperwork and specimen bottles for blood and urine samples to be given prior to seeing a specialist at Nobles This was in order that the specialist will have the results when I attend the appointment I began ringing for an appointment at the Blood Clinic on Monday morning ( yesterday ) The phone was continually engaged On the few occasions it rang, it went unanswered I finally got through this afternoon just after 4 o'clock The earliest appointment I could have was at 11.40am on Wednesday 3rd February My appointment with the specialist is at 9.30am on Wednesday 3rd February If I recall correctly, a main reason given for the switch to an appointment system was in the interests of greater efficiency (http://www.iomtoday.co.im/politics/Minister-promises-review-of-blood.5831136.jp) I would be grateful if you could kindly explain how this can be remotely described as efficient Yours Faithfully
thebees
The admin at the hospital is poor (at best) a friend of mine is away having treatment in Liverpool Royal, sent there by Nobles...so you would think they would check their own records before sending out 3 abrupt "you missed an appointment" letters wouldn't you? I've said it before and will say it again, the Isle of Man health services infrastructure is more suited to a much smaller island, like the Calf of Man. They cannot cope with all the sick/elderly people we have here.

jimbms
I don't see any problem with the new system if you are flexible, I have my bloods every month and have yet to not get it on the day required, in fact I think this new system is a lot better my regular interview with a vampire is now a lot quicker
Dont ask me! Apart from the times I'm in the same position, what a total joke this system is, is there any point going to my appointment with the doctor now? We will be stuck with this booking system now, as any thing that clearly is wrong (i.e. a bit of common sense shows it) appears to be the order of the day on our island now.
