Ans, I am having similar problems with Handcent. I cannot work out how to switch off notifications on the inbuilt SMS application, any pointers on how to do this? Every time I get a message it shows up in both applications so I need to open up the HTC one and clear the message.

 

 

just go to the in built sms app click menu, settings, and un tick received notification.
