Bobbie Bobster
Anyone know anywhere locally I can buy a DisplayPort cable. Tried Waltons on my way past - no go.
trmpton
What are you trying to connect to what?
Bobbie Bobster
I'm trying to connect the unused displayport output (both DVI ports are in use) on my graphics card to a monitor dp input. There's also a free HDMI port, this might work so in the meantime I'll have a rummage for a spare HDMI cable.
trmpton
If you've already tried Waltons can only think of Colebourns - Victoria Street PC Solutions - Bucks Road Currys - last resort Istore - Tromode Mannageit - Onchan, probably not at a weekend though

Silentbob
If you are wanting to go triple screen, make sure the adapter is an active one, recall all sorts of problems with passive adapters when I got my 5970.
Bobbie Bobster
Sapphire HD7870 - can't wait to get my anti-static wristband on and install it!

Been there, done that, Intel HD Graphics were my backup plan. I might one day get an adapter, but I'm lazy and it works.
Bobbie Bobster
Grrrr. Picked up a DisplayPort to HDMI cable in PCWorld for 47p (!!!) to connect card (HDMI) to monitor (DP) (no DP to DP cables available) Unfortunately, for triple output to work, one of them has to be the DP port. So back to amazon...

Bobbie Bobster
Just to clarify for anyone else who comes across this thread - currently I'm outputting using 2xDVI ports (successfully) and 1xHDMI port (unsuccessfully) from the graphics card. Having read some more since I bought the HDMI to DP cable, the only way of getting triple output is if one of the outputs used is DisplayPort, i.e. 1xDP, 1xHDMI and 1xDVI or 1xDP and 2xDVI. trmpton
47p!!! It would cost them more than that to order it, process it through the stock system, put it on the shelf, and sell it to you. Never mind buying it. No wonder retail is f*****d
AcousticallyChallenged
Just to clarify for anyone else who comes across this thread - currently I'm outputting using 2xDVI ports (successfully) and 1xHDMI port (unsuccessfully) from the graphics card. Having read some more since I bought the HDMI to DP cable, the only way of getting triple output is if one of the outputs used is DisplayPort, i.e. 1xDP, 1xHDMI and 1xDVI or 1xDP and 2xDVI. Just throw an active DP to DVI into the mix and you'll be sorted. Is it miniDP or full size DP on the card? I don't recall many newer cards having anything but MiniDP.
