Panama papers reveal world leaders finances

This has the potential to be particularly damning just coming out on all news networks tonight

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-35918844

There is some mention of the Isle of Man in them from what I've found from going around, but it's mainly focused on those who had accounts in the British Virgin Islands and that area.

Currently the heads of state in here are (thanks to Reddit):

Mauricio Macri, president or Argentina.

Bidzina Ivanishvill. ex PM of Georgia

Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson, PM of Iceland.

Ayad H. Allawi, ex PM of Iraq.

Ali Abu-Ragheb, ex PM of Jordan.

Hamad Jasim J.M. Al-Thani,ex PM of Qatar.

Sheik Al-Thani, Emir of Qatar.

HRH Prince Salman, King of Saudi Arabia

Ahmad Al-Nirghani, ex-president of Sudan

Sultan Al-Nahyan, president of the UAE.

Pavlo Lazarenko, ex-PM of Ukraine.

Petro Poroshenko, president of Ukraine.

And it looks like Putin is caught up in it too.

Edited to give BBC link instead of Sky News, it's better

So what if Putin is. Who is going to anything about it?

IAN CAMERON
Father of David Cameron

The father of Great Britain’s current Conservative Prime Minister died in 2010, having amassed a fortune in smart investments. According to the documents, “Cameron helped create and develop Blairmore Holdings Inc. in Panama in 1982 and was involved in the investment fund until his 2010 death.” Blairmore was valued at $20 million in 1998 and was promoted to investors in brochures as “not liable to taxation on its income or capital gains.” The promotional literature added that Cameron’s fund “will not be subject to United Kingdom corporation tax or income tax on its profits.”

I hope the Isle of Man isn't dragged into this as MF don't hold a CSP licence here and are not subject to the same requirements as licence holders

Given this could bring a shed load of negative publicity, perhaps the time has come for that sort of arrangement to be discontinued.

Sections of the British public have slammed their local media outlets for ignoring the fact Prime Minister David Cameron’s father was caught up in a massive data leak involving possible tax evasion.

A huge leak of more than 11.5 million documents from a Panama-based law firm saw the British media jump to accuse President Vladimir Putin of corruption, despite the Russian president not being named in any of the papers.

We are living in interesting times indeed.

I can't be bothered to look at all the newspaper sites but I found references to Ian Cameron on The Telegraph and The Daily Mail site pretty much straight away. It doesn't seem to be getting ignored, perhaps he just isn't really as high profile as some of the others that have been named.

I think they are all just copying that John Darwin bloke who went missing in his canoe a few years ago and turned up in Panama.
