P2p Problems

Recommended Posts

I have now upgraded from dial-up to broadband, Although when using a file sharing program like Limewire, I only get speeds of 5kbps, Which is crap, i used to get that on dial-up!

Anybody know how i could speed it up?, I think i should be getting a speed of 30kbps or more.

Does anybody else use any other p2p software.

Any help appreciated

The most I've ever got out of Limewire is 30kb/s which isnt that great, but its enough if I'm just downloading one small file.

I download most of my larger files through Azureus though (torrent files), which with a bit of tweaking I can get between 50-100 kb/s.

But like Nick said, its mostly affected by what the other peers are allowing for their upload speed.

You could try using another port for Limewire instead of the standard default port.

I think EasyNews is the current popular choice on here at the moment, but you have to know how to use newsgroups etc.

Thanks for all the help,

modey : are you on MT broadband and getting those speeds.

TerryMcCann : are you on MT broadband and getting those speeds aswell.

It would be nice to get anything above 50kbps.
