  1. G5 after us? http://www.manxradio.com/news/isle-of-man-news/more-tax-troubles-for-iom-on-the-horizon/ Worrying. ETA: correct link
  2. Settlement is probably the wrong word. Intermediatte payment really.
  3. I'm not saying it shouldn't be taken to court Declan. More I think the relatives should have some sort of immediate settlement, given 'permission' now to be allowed to carry on with their lives. It's been a long tiring fight. Let those strong enough continue with it, but let those poor tired mothers now get on with their lives.
  4. Lots of people that might be culpable have passed on now. 30 years is a long time. Another 5 years probably to even come to court.
  5. The UK government own a lot of these f**k ups. Instead of getting even more lawyers involved can't they just pay out a noninal £100k for each victim? These people must be well worn out fighting for this all these years. I know money isn't the answer, they've got justice now, but who needs another 10 years of feckin lawyers and more stress? .
  6. They'd most certainly find skid marks if an HGV was heading for my small car.
  7. The desk would have radioed the boat that they'd closed check in and that no one was walking through the corridor. The boat would then start the door closing procedure, and that procedure is taken very seriously, for obvious historical reasons. This is down to the desk mob.
  8. The Labour pack is not short of jokers.
  9. There was a massive electoral swing to the SNP after the referendum in Scotland. You think UKIP would benefit the same way, when they vote to stay in Pongo?
  10. Maybe we should start a 'Tax Engagement' sector, where people pay more tax than they need to, and government's can just piss it all away without any questions. Damn. I just found out 89,055 governments, including ours, beat me to that idea already.
  11. That's nice. But where's the film fund money?
  12. I don't think Code99 is quite right there. Happy to be corrected. But this has gone through several ammendments since 2015 and just needs to include people who hold the position of senior managing officials. Not beneficial owners.
  13. I like the IMF. Tom Cruise is great in it.
  14. We'll all get to see it one day I'm sure. Probably in an email from the treasury.
  15. What about all those elected and unelected politicians getting an extra £10k for being a department member...when there is no requirement for all of them?
  16. Well possibly. But a year ago you would have said the same thing about him becoming Leader of the Labour Party. Yeah...but look at the competition he had, and an easily abused sign up to vote scheme.
  17. Corbyn has less chance of being British Prime Minister than Mickey Mouse.
  18. Oh deer. Luoks leeke-a zee-a prime-a meenister ouff iceluond is deep in zee-a puop http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-35966412
  19. I'd rather full independence than kowtow to England.
  20. These stories will just trickle out I suspect, in dribs and drabs, with continued promises of more to come. Remember, the Guardian and others did that before, with Wiki and other leaks. They haven't done all this investigative journalism work simply to release it for one newspaper issue.
  21. Er...it shut down like 10 years ago at least didn't it?
