  1. Back to the usual standard of your informed debate I see.
  2. Yes he did and Gawne can't distance himself from this. He pushed this situation and he drove the agenda that will see us pay Peel Ports the best part of £15m (on top of the £3.5m we paid for the land) to see this project through. Gawne might try to get out of it by saying the decision was backed by one of his stupid and pointless online democracy polls where 20 people voted and therefore it was not his fault; but it was him who pushed this and him who saw it through before the voting public hoofed him out.
  3. To further digress from the awful subject of Manx Radio. The actual Manx property market reflects the movement in the income brackets that apply to Manx workers. The prevalence of mainly low paid jobs effectively cap out the market at around £350k and most of what's on above that will be picked off by the few who are earning decent money or who are moving here earning decent money. Most of what's come on the market in the last 18 months has been priced realistically anyway it's the ones that have been on the market for years at stupid prices that will never be sold as there are NO buyers at those prices. Below that it's just reflecting the fact that a lot of workers are in low paid jobs and can only borrow a certain amount of money against their relatively low income. They will only move up the chain so far as their income can't support anything else. Despite this the answer seems to be to build more £225k first time buyer houses that no low earning Manx families can afford.
  4. She shouldn't be sacked but she should be properly shown up. This is nothing but the personal opinions of people who aren't even medically qualified. The Manx Taliban don't like abortion so that's it. They claim they consulted when clearly they didn't. How many poor women are they forcing outside the system to sort themselves out at a traumatic time without the basic support of the DHSC by continuing down this blind alley? It's hardly good for either their health or their mential wellbeing.
  5. The Manx Taliban strikes again. No need for a medical opinion or to consult with clinical experts. The religious zealots had all bases covered on this one. This FOI request must be extremely unconvienient for Beecroft in proving that bugger all was done other than someone declaring "This isn't happening on moral grounds as I think it's wrong - and that's the end of it"
  6. I didn't listen to it. I have never listened to it. I will never listen to it. But one thing for certain was that I knew Notwell would comment the contrary and pump out the Govt line. I just happen to be driving to the northern territories at lunch time and heard a fair bit of the show. Mannin was speaking shit. Did it feel just like 1972 as you zoned in on your push button stereo in your Ramsey bound Austin Maxi? Manx Radio has that effect.
  7. That potato I suggested you stuff into your swimming trunks while trying to attract the ladies on Port Erin beach...just remember to stick it down the front this year. Class.
  8. Only you missed the point as you clearly arent that clever.
  9. Why? They have to buy and import steel (probably from China or India) in Dollars, and all the component parts from all over Europe in Euros, and probably the electrical components from Germany and Japan. Just because labour has got a bit cheaper due to the weak pound doesn't mean the overall cost of manufacturing has gone down much as they're not sourcing most of the raw materials in the weak Sterling zone but from markets that are trading high against Sterling. Another flawed outbreak of Brexit myopia. You don't have much idea how international business and currency trading works. You can't have it both ways. If the owners are foreign, reporting their financials in their own country then the only effect on them would be the cheaper British labour and other UK added value elements for as long as those remain cheaper. Any factors from outside the UK would be exactly neutral - converted to sterling and then back from sterling into their own currency. That's what I said. You really aren't that clever are you? The only cost saving, as I said, would only largely be on the labour, which is a small part of the manufacturing process. So how would a car be made that much cheaper when you're buying your components everywhere but the UK and even importing your plant and machinery? The only argument then is on tariffs and Trump "might" bring those in but let's face it they will be in order that car production moves to the US (to create US jobs). That's the only reason to bring domestic tariffs in. Not so that a few Minis and Nissan Micras (which are too small for the US market anyway) can be shipped in from the UK.
  10. No the benefits really are intangible. Do you have a dictionary? Or is English not your first language? If they aren't you specifically, providing facts, confirm how any of the above claims are true and have happened?
  11. Don't give them facts Chinahand. FAKE NEWS! FAKE NEWS!
  12. What part of the word "intangible" is it that you don't understand...? All of it clearly!
  13. Yet another intangible promised benefit of Brexit. Honestly can't believe why so many people believe this utter crap. They'll be so disappointed when so few of the claimed benefits arrive and they'll be queuing to pay Mr Banks £800 for their £200 fridge at Brightside as their credit history turned to mulch. They'll be even angrier and shoutier then that they are now - but they won't be able to blame the immigrants for the UKs failing economy by then. They will only be able to blame themselves for voting for a load of made up lies drafted by multi millionaires like Banks and Farage.
  14. But Trump wants the German cars assembled in the US not the UK. Mercedes already build the M Class in Alabama. That is the whole point of border taxes. It makes it cheaper to build inside the border than outside. You're deluded if you think it will do anything for the UK motor industry.

  16. None as it will probably cost £1bn to re-tool a whole BMW assembly line in the UK.
  17. No evidence for that whatsoever. Conjecture. Conjecture to you. He's a sub prime lending baron worth £100m who bankrolled Brexit and who then let Farage disappear into the ether the minute it was all done.
  18. In that case I'd be a prime Arron Banks and Brightside customer. Unemployed, shit credit history, totally turned down by every other high street retailer. He's creating a lot of future customers by bankrolling Brexit.
  19. Yes, well done you. So Arron Banks (and Farage his paid for bitch who has now all but disappeared from public view) has successfully sold out the UK so you can all now shop in Brightside and Poundland. What a brilliant coup de'etat on the sweaty English masses. Make a country potentially so poor that they're queuing up to pay £800 for a washing machine on 60 months credit from your company because their role on an assembly line is now being done in Romania for 50p. sir nige last seen having dinner with trump.....That wasn't an answer of substance. All but disappeared from UK politics (you know, the nation he and Banks tricked to get out of Europe). Banks makes money off disenfranchment and sub prime credit histories. No wonder he was happy to bankroll the chavs to vote for Brexit. He'll get millions more customers as the UK morphs into Greece over the next 5 years when it's out. Quite astute of him really. It's a great way of forcing consumers down the value chain until they have to pay 3 x the retail price to buy a Telly off him through Brightside as they have no job and a shit credit history and nobody else will offer them terms. So exactly how would this have been any different if we stay in the EU? Does globalisation not affect EU countries? I'm specifically talking about Banks and his ability to profit from a situation he put in play. He's a millionaire (£100m personal wealth) made largely off the back of sub prime British borrowers. He's now potentially created a lot more sub prime British borrowers by convincing them to leave the EU. I think that's relevant. The EU situation is immaterial in that context.

Who watches the US news? The man is a cunt. He should stay in the US if that's what he is doing. It's a win for Banks all round though. Lots more UK sub prime fridge and telly buyers being cultivated. He'll be adding to that £100m fortune so quickly.

  23. Thats a bit glib. Rock Services and Southern Rock Insurance's ultimate holding company is Rock Holdings Ltd, a company based on the Isle of Man, and Banks has also been a "substantial" shareholder in STM Fidecs (a Gibraltar CSP known for cutting edge tax planning) which sits over Leave.uk. Brightside makes Millions from selling sub prime UK borrowers credit agreements to buy overpriced domestic goods. Seems that in future they might be even poorer as a result of Brexit so probably a good strategic move. Ever had the feeling you've been cheated? and greece has 2000+ years of debt to be paid off..... Greece's main problem is that it was a nation of tax dodgers (like Mr Banks really) and its public sector collapsed because tax receipts didn't even make a dent in supporting its governments borrowing or its need for cash to spend on the public sector. I'm sure Mr Banks businesses like Brightside would have a great way of making money off sub prime borrowing in somewhere like Greece. Who knows that might look like somewhere like the UK sometime soon? He knows how to make money off unemployment, gloom, and shitty credit histories. But then again maybe be bankrolled Brexit to make put more Brits into his core customer demographic?
