No need to go overboard. Literally just confirmation of the cause would be good - transparency so we know these horses are actually being looked after. The DOI subsidy for loss making railways has been slashed, so it's important to know they haven't reduced welfare standards.

I'm sure they've done some work to improve her over the years. But how much of that initial criticism was just the perception of the Manx Public? As a collective, we don't trust anything new... Ben-My-Chree arrives and people considered it to be worse than the King Orry/Lady of Mann... Manxman arrives and people consider it to be worse than the Ben.. Same at the airport when Euromanx appeared people called for Manx Airlines to come back, Flybe replaced them and people wanted Euromanx back, Easyjet gradually took over the dominant share of routes and some bemoan the loss of Flybe..

What a great ship the Ben has been down the years.

Selling the Ben makes sense on paper, but it depends if they want to retain any strategic redundancy for passenger services. The Arrow obviously provides freight cover, and that is the bread and butter that provides profit and subsidises passenger farss, but it can't provide passenger cover. Days when Manxman goes out of service and it's too rough for the fast craft... they may not be that rare. Although as IOMSPC purchased Arrow for €9m, is this a foregone conclusion?

Could we use the Ben to sail to Heysham and pick up buckets of green electricity for the nuclear power station?
