  1. Has anyone noticed the Co-op seem to have some crazy pricing at the moment? Way over and above what you would pay at M&S or Tesco.
  2. Have the two of them ever been seen together in the same room?
  3. Not sure I get this whole call to arms thing, especially when there are still new places opening all the time. No doubt business for them is tough, but everything outside of the IOM Government tent is tough in this economy. Will we he hearing from widget factories wanting support?
  4. So when is the new Liverpool terminal opening? All gone rather quiet.
  5. Why though? The Villiers had served its purpose and was life expired. It was a great decision to pull it down. Again though, why? What would be the benefit of a random bit of stone wall for the occasional anorak-clad old building aficionado to look at? It gets in the way of progress and I'm glad that digger driver knocked it down. Building preservation in a lot of cases does very little to enhance our current society.
  6. My choice hasn't been built yet, but I'm going to say the new development on the Villiers site. It's modern and different. It's not all pseduo-Victoriana and the fact that it boils the piss of the Victorian society shows the people behind the scheme are doing something right. My other choice would be Tesco Lake Road. Big modern development (at the time) which went in the face of the island's NIMBY element.
  7. Government is short of cash. The Government spends a small fortune to put TT on. The TT currently is reported to earn the island more than it costs. I would be very wary around reducing the income potential of TT. It will give the anti-TT brigade a stick to try and beat it with. If the TT is going to be presented as a world class sporting event then it's just a fact of life that attending it is going to cost a bit of money. It's the way of the world these days sadly.
  8. I feel like I want to wish the guy good luck with his ideas... But I definitely wouldn't invest my own money* in it... he seems a bit confused about what it is he is proposing. Some kind of cafe/shop/media company. Will he run into issue with Starship Enterprise over motorsport/TT branding? *I don't think he would actually need my cash as he seems pretty wealthy lol
  9. Robinson's are also reportedly looking for large units in the north and south of the island to open shops in.
  10. Big Shoprite in Ramsey refurb starts on 15th June. (According to a sign at Clear Pharmacy there)
  11. Wait until they do the Ramsey Big Shoprite 😈
