  1. I thought PE commissioners were against it. As Declan pointed out in the democracy thread they're against everything.
  2. Drainage and groundworks carried out by Island Drainage and Groundworks? Brilliant advert.
  3. What is the word to describe people like that Walker character from Dad's Army? Is it SPIV? He looks like a Spiv.
  4. Not totally sure I understand it myself, but I'm going to go with this. Steve Christian has had Eddie Teare and co wrapped around his little finger for years, and has used this to the benefit of his own massive ego. Eddie is finally aware that he could well have been taken for a total ride but is in a state of utter denial.
  5. I suggested that earlier in the thread. Ans shot me down over the fact that ultimately it is tax payers who foot the bill for banking and admin charges etc. The point of it wasn't that, it was the sheer hassle and inconvenience of it. Good on you LL.
  6. I'd love it if people didn't pay it, but for the cheque thing was for those who would like to protest but still obey the law.
  7. Fine. Pay your money, take your shit. Figured it might be a way of displaying minor dissent. Sending a message etc.
  8. Does the IOM Government, or the WASA, or whoever is collecting the money have to pay commercial bank charges? It costs 65p to pay a cheque in to a business account. I propose that as a protest, while still actually paying the charge and thus staying on the side of the law, that people pay the charge in installments. Small ones. Like £1 per week. Or better, 50p. By cheque. The cost to the government would be hilarious. And while I am a bit sad at the idea of further enriching the banks, the idea of 'civil servant' and his co-workers having to process tiny cheques and updating peoples payment records fills me with joy. Go on, you know it makes sense.
  9. A finger of fudge is just enough...
  10. Right, I kind of understand what you are saying now. Thanks. Just to be clear, are you hoping to charge your tenants the full £50 thus pocketing the discount? There is definitely a lack of information from the WA.
  11. How can I explain it better Alibaba, I don't know, re-read it and see if you can make sense of it yourself. It seems that there might be words or possibly even whole sentences missing. Anyway, at least you are trying to get some information out. What I'm wondering, is will LA/DSC tennents be sent a bill for the whole amount, or will it be tacked onto the rates and payable weekly through the rent book?
  12. Hi Rob. Your above post doesn't really make much sense.
  13. Roger Mexico's post is interesting (as normal). I live in DSC housing, and on my rent book it has at the top the rent (£x per week) and rates (£x per week). Wonder if the new one, due before April will have an extra column for Shit Tax (£1 per week) or if they'll just send us a bill for £50.
  14. I'm preparing my speech. I'm bound to see him sooner or later. What about Juan? He still get the bus? Maybe I'll get on it, he'd be trapped, he'd have to listen to the SHIT coming out of my mouth, there'd be no escape.
  15. How the fuck can they justify £300 per year? Wankers. I can't wait til I bump into Phil Gawne in Port Erin Shoprite next. I'd say the same about Skelly but I've no idea what he looks like. Can you get arrested for swearing at someone?
  16. http://positiveactiongroup.org/index.php?option=com_contact_enhanced&view=categories&layout=contacts&Itemid=154 Send them this. And then do it for real.
  17. Could you link me to the post please?
  18. Who voted for it? I hope they get sent parcels of shit.
  19. It's so they can give it straight to the banks to cover the interest on their massive unaffordable loans.
  20. Stop taking out massive loans for vanity projects and charging the public when they realise they can't afford the repayments.
  21. "You can't do that anymore. That's what people fail to realise. Too much time in the UK and you pay UK tax. There is no benefit to living here anymore unless you make here more or less your permanent residence and substantially limit your time in the UK. " Isn't it less than 90 nights? Hence the helicopter...
