DjDan
why will this year be different? 07/08 W D W W D D W D W D D W (total 24 points) 08/09 W W D W D W W W W W L W (total 29 points) that's not bad going - Liverpool's best start in years. of course things can change... but as things are.. why not be optimistic? Tugger
Could have been 4 or 5 goals each. Chelsea's title now. I think you will find there is another team with the same number of points as them who have already beaten them at Stamford Bridge this season. Bless. Like I said, Chelsea's title. The more people underestimate Liverpool, the better I like it it's not underestimating you its just a fact of reality it's been "your year" for the past 18, you had a great start last year all the fans got over excited and yet again it blew up in ur faces why will this year be different? LOL, like I said...

Shill
Great result for us yesterday. I know the first goal was a country mile offside but heh. Bovvered!!
Visionary
Well here is to hoping our supposed "amazing" fans don't get on the backs of the players tonight if West Ham frustrate us, we are nervy at home and a couple of silly draws at Anfield won't help the supposed title charge. Im a massive red but its only November, yes, a win will put us 3 points clear, but I fear Man U still have a lot to offer this season, and until/unless we can build a large 10+ point gap with them having no games in hand by feb/mar then i'm not getting too excited yet. Next point of interest is the January transfer window, Liverpool allegidly going for Owen, why? I thought we should have had him back when he left Madrid but clearly now he is too injury prone, right now a right winger is priority, along with a right back, plus, we should have never sold Crouch, oh how we could do with him when Torres is injured! Mutley
we should have never sold Crouch, oh how we could do with him when Torres is injured! Ironic how Crouch has more goals this season in the PL than Torres...
Lonan3
LINK Or Heskey? Everton, who have lost striker Yakubu for the rest of the season, are the latest club to be linked with Heskey, joining Liverpool, Aston Villa, Manchester City and Tottenham as a possible destination if he does leave the JJB Stadium. Visionary
As previously predicted, West Ham grab a point, fans get on players backs, wasted chance to go 3 clear, this is why i ain't holding my breath this season. I know many fellow reds are deluded but its not looking great is it? Owen, Heskey, Crouch, all scored more than Keane, and a few of them more than Torres, to be fair Torres has missed half the season so far, but still, Rafa likes to play one striker so see's fit to only have two in the whole squad, roping Gerrard into striker service. I missed last nights game due to Setanta being gash, however the bbc text result was saying that Liverpool were basically playing Hyppia as a second striker? Give Babel a chance, he has saved Rafa'a bacon enough times to deserve a few games from the start. But then Benitez is this "master tactician", well, in europe maybe, but still hasn't sussed the prem and how to break teams down who put 10 men behind the ball. Tugger
I don't have Setanta so I didn't see it, but did West Ham put 10 men behind the ball? It sounded like they wasted a few good chances too. I don't think we're good enough to win now either. We should be merciless with the likes of Fulham and West Ham. Still, we're top for now

Still, we're top for now Well, i gather West Ham had several good chances on the break with Bellamys pace, but the general idea was West Ham set their stall out for a point, which, to be fair is expected by West Ham, Fulham etc, a point at Anfield is good for these teams, but i totally agree, these are the sort of games Man U and Chelsea fire 3 or 4 goals in. Liverpool are by no means out of it, but need to take the chances when they arise to build a gap, thats what made Man U so fantastic over last 15 years or so, as much as it pains to say. I wonder how long liverpool will be able to cope with the expectanty and pressure of being top (for now ) droppin points at home against mediocre sides won't help the cause though. I agree you probably need a right winger but you know benitez he'll buy another striker and stick him out wide
