My understanding is, when a domain expires it goes into a 30-day redemption period. This gives the company an additional chance to-register. If they fail to register the domain in the redemption period, it goes into a 5-day "Pending-Delete" phase, it can't be renewed and it isn't available for registration. Following this 5-day period, it's in the public domain... (runs to get credit-card)

Think it's 40 days' grace, with a total time to expiry of 75 days. Mike Davidson, creator of Newsvine, wrote an excellent article explaining how domains drop here:

As for weather sites, the Manx Government handily puts the shipping forecast up here:

My preferred site is Magic Seaweed, which is excellent for surfers:

(The swell one doesn't go up to the IoM properly, but if you look at the detailed report or the one for Hell's Mouth they're usually good enough.)

There's and 11m swell running for West Coast of Ireland on Sunday (16sec periods) - wish I was there for that!!

Gonna make a few phone calls and see if anyone I know will be out.

Yikes! I imagine Aileens might well be extremely impressive if the conditions are right for her to work! e.g.
