  1. now saying that the sprinklers were triggered as a result of ventilation failure + fumes
  2. thanks for that, Thunderbird just says t pop3 server not responded (or something like) but webmail is still just a spinning circle I tried sending an email through from another gmail I have as a test just about to set up a new gmail address (apart from one other I already have)
  3. has anyone had no emails from manx.net since 12th Oct ? I have no access by pop3 or IMAP, and even logging into webmail doesn't work, just a spinning circle There's no mention on MT service status page for any outage
  4. interesting new bus route for the 21 service ๐Ÿ˜œ
  5. Has anyone else had a government rates demand with the wrong direct debit details on the back ? I had 2 this morning, one for the house has no details on the back, and the other for another small property has payment amounts for the wrong property (rates of ยฃ42 but schedule shows payments of ยฃ68 per month !) surely it's not rocket science ๐Ÿ˜ž just wondering if it's an isolated case or widespread
  6. I prefer RB thick sliced wholemeal to imported options which I find are mostly very dry and more suited to toasting, maybe I'll be getting a bread machine ๐Ÿ˜ž
  7. what's all this fuss about having to have a ยฃ45 licence to store more than 10 litres of petrol ? (half a gerry can), UK regs seem to be that you can store between 30 - 275L and only have to notify the local PEA, no mention of a licence or fee https://www.hse.gov.uk/fireandexplosion/petrol-storage-club-association.htm
  8. Maybe the shortage of materials is because it's all been used building vaccination hubs ๐Ÿ˜œ
  9. I find it typical that a farmer sees a crop which could be worthwhile for numerous end products, legislators only see means of gaining big bucks so set the rules for growing the crop, which instantly makes growing it uneconomic ๐Ÿ˜ž #muppets
  10. I think HQ should choose his terms for types of meetings with more care, I had to google what he meant by 'deckchairing' with your auntie in the garden, I don't think it was what he meant ;-o
  11. they are only part time, they are also shipping experts and epidemiologists :-p
  12. 'if' it was silt caused the damage, I can see them lengthening the low tide avoidance time for sailings, so even more variations to sailing times than the odd hour here and there they do currently - I still think rogue debris is more likely though I hope the design of the new vessel is more fishing tackle and Heysham proof :-p
  13. BMC on the way home, left the dock 7am and now around The Lizard heading for Landsend
  14. bet you listened to Mrs Dale's Diary and Around the Horne as well !
  15. I can't get over how many programmes now have multiple presenters, like a 2 hour slot with 3 in the studio, not very cost effective
  16. sadly yet another casualty of the new schedule, I used to listen to the 6pm slot after the news roundup but sadly, no more as that has gone to pot, and please get rid of all the blasted music bumping away behind all the speaking, it may be hip and trendy but it's getting like an Americal football match and such a turn-off, it's rapidly descending into an ever decreasing spiral of mediocrity and could be just any jukebox station up and down the scale. (if anyone at MR ever reads feedback from former listeners) Just imagine the uproar if a new boss at the BBC axed 'The Archers'
  17. don't they have any live weather forecaster any more ? it's just a gabbled script now
  18. Slight snag, Tynwald in all their wisdom wanted them to be self funding without advertising (prize eejits !) but failed to explain how that works
  19. I have just been reading the new schedule properly and and very disappointed, I realise II'll be losing lots of favourite listening slots. 'll not hear Chris Williams in the mornings now now except saturdays, (sorry Chris) I'll not hear Stu any more as I don't usually listen to radio that late, (sorry Stu) I'll not hear the Marc's Greatest Hits or Paul Corkish at 6pm, (sorry folks) and looking at what's on at the times I usually listen, I think I will probably just end up on Radio 2 . I fear this is going to wreck the MR listening figures :-( It certainly looks like it will drastically alter my listening habits once I hear the end product, MR is usually on from 8am - 3pm continuous in our house, up to now, but things look like they will change next week . The one slot I won't have to change though is in the afternoon, I usually turn off at the same time each day and that slot hasn't altered (I wonder why !) I think I will soon get very bored with a 2 hour 'newsy' morning programme, not what I want to wake up to.and just too long winded (akin to the awful merry-go-round 24hr rolling news ) Maybe I'll just record Chris from 5am and replay it at 8am maybe they could have MR+3 on 1368KHz ! or root out my old Mark White MR programme tapes and play them
  20. 21. delayed sailing today warning to be "very lively"
  22. anyone know why Manannan berthed 'bow-in' last night, I can only assume it had something to do with low tide on arrival time, it got turned for the morning departure but must have been a pita for any vehicles on board not being able to get off !
  23. why is it that when 61% of survey want faster journey to Liverpool does Government say comfort (?) overrides speed ? and they want longer journeys so passengers get so bored they go spending money in the shops #excuses #fleecethepunters
