  7. just for the record, that's the forecast last night, force 9 would not make getting through the dog-leg of Heysham entrance, or turning, very easy. With all of last night's traffic and probably this morning's Manannan load it wasn't over-packed with pax, maybe the decks were full of campers and vans though. Arrow has been riding out the storm in Laxey bay waiting for the wind to drop and a vacant berth even this morning BMC was heading 160' more like going to Llandudno before turning east Arrow has been riding out the storm in Laxey bay waiting for the wind to drop and a vacant berth

  10. what an utter waste, £18 MILLION to implement, in the hope it will make people cut down on electricity use, will cut staff from going around reading meters (and checking for meter tampering !). If the demand reduces it will drop profit which in turn will increase the price per unit - as happened last time in the 'fuel crisis' (still have my petrol ration book !) if anyone is old enough to remember (1970's), where tv closed down at 10pm etc, demand dropped so to maintain profit level the price increased, and never went back down again :-( I already have an 'Owl' device which tells me how much I am using and doesn't make me switch anything off, I've already converted most lights to led where suitable alternatives were available (not at silly prices !) but the heavy use of electric still need to be utilised for laundry, cooking etc. I fear this is just another 'because everyone else does it' exercise where we follow along like sheep .
  11. Manannan came out of wet dock earlier and is now on its way 'home' :-) eta: aborted berthing due to wind, seems to be bobbing about on the briney off Clay Head until it calms down a bit in the morning
  12. there was a suggestion that there were a number of larger windfarm crew transfer vessels on the pontoons which may have added too much load
  13. Chris Barber at the Jazz club in the Villiers Hotel was good !
  14. weren't Douglas corpy all those years ago selling the site to the Governemt for £1 (or was it 25p ?)
  15. BMC late in tonight waiting for enough water at very low tide, had a tour of Maughold lighthouse to put in time !
  16. isn't wednesday 'haardous cargo' night - usually just enough pax for a rugby match
  17. so why is the complete downloadable pdf such a pig's arse :-p
  18. the forum screws up the formating, but I fail to see how you can just list the sailings to eg. Dublin
  19. you haven't looked at it then, you can't just scroll down to the date, or just look for a particular destination, it may be all things to all people but is a nightmare to find what you want, the website doesn't even have a 'Home' tab to get back to the landing page from where you were #notimpressed
  20. anyone seen the abortion of a new SPCo website and timetable (complete pdf download) makes things almost impossible to plan any journeys :-(
  21. is it time for these people to get an ASBO and be deported ?
