somewhatdamaged
It's a shame that we get ripped off so much over here. I want an external filter for my small fish tank so checked on Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0055F7F9O/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 - £54.90 i then decided to check local to see if i could get one quicker and pay a little more http://www.tynwaldpetcentre.com/store/product/6650/Tetratec-External-Filter-EX-600/ £97.49 which is a "special price" Rip off IOM. I would love to shop local but with markups like that, they can forget it.

somewhatdamaged
Well if you're happy enough paying double for something crack on. Having the price shown doesn't mean they are not ripping you off, that's the stupidest thing I've read today. I'll come see you next time I want to sell something! If you buy lots, you can get a better deal from the manufacturer so you can sell it for less but still make a profit. Go to a small independent pet shop in the UK and you'll find the price is similar to the one at Tynwald

Thomas Jefferson
I stopped shopping in HMV the day I saw them trying to peddle old Star Trek box sets for £35 a piece. That is daylight robbery as far as I'm concerned. I bought them for £15 each from Amazon instead. It's odd, because iTunes also charges a hell of a lot for video content. Surely without the need for postage, packaging or physical storage cost, such videos ought to be cheaper on iTunes? Yet quite often things are cheaper even in places like HMV than they are on iTunes. Just one example would be a movie like The Goonies (1985), which was £3 in HMV - at least the one on Oxford Street -- but £5.99 or £6.99 on iTunes. Can someone explain that to me? Surely bandwidth cost doesn't exceed the aforementioned physical distribution cost?

La_Dolce_Vita
It isn't wise to not have used your vouchers considering HMV's demise was on the horizon.
La_Dolce_Vita
Glad I returned something as soon as I heard they were in trouble, would've been £200 and a years warranty down the drain! The first year or did you buy an extended warranty? RamseyMike
A bit more is acceptable, 100% more isn't. the rrp is £129.99 according to amazon who are selling it at 58% off, clearly you think that offering just 25% off is a rip off so how much more discount should the manx shop be offering? somewhatdamaged
Amazon bullshit about the RRP just as much as the next shop. I couldn't care less what they "claim" the RRP is. I care what they sell the item for Plenty of places selling for miles less than £100 http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?hl=en&q=Tetra+Tec+Ex+600&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&bvm=bv.41018144,d.d2k&biw=1472&bih=788&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=7505042297340091057&sa=X&ei=4ML1UJukLq-a0QXH0IDYDA&ved=0CEsQ8wIwAA#scoring=tps
