I suspect you'll now go pretty quiet on this but what have I made up? Why would you need a twin cam locking tool or a crank pin on a Vincent motorcycle? Or, come to that, anything that involved a 3/4 drive?

No, the fact you asked a pretty lame question then took an awful long time to google some tools once you were called out...just saying

So answer my question. Or in fact, anyone on this thread can help you. We'll do it now in real time if you like! Don't give me any googling time! What would he need the gear I listed for? I don't believe he has anything I mentioned in his "extensive collection". Why would he?
Neil Down
Do you know what he does for a living then? Just because his hobby is vintage bikes doesn't mean he can't own other tools. I work in an office but own an awful lot of woodworking tools. Try thinking outside the box, or just thinking

La Colombe
In fact, using Google to look at Vincent engines, about which I know little, I can't find one that isn't a push rod engine so I'll be fascinated to learn about paswt's "extensive collection" of valve timing tools. It's all gone a bit suspiciously quiet though. I'm going to have to go to bed soon.

Mr Bear
i doubt a hire company would stock tools like that, purely because people abuse tools they don't own. Exactly the reason that all experienced tradesmen never lend their tools. If you need a specialist tool it's time to buy one to add to your toolkit, noting that it may be expensive, but it'll still cost less than the hirers replacement charge when you break the crappy one they hired you.
