Back on topic- I’ve got a flight to BHX tomorrow at midday with Loganair. How do you rate my chances of getting away on time? Was planning to sail but the Ben was fully booked, presumably with Bury fans.

Only brands I remember since the 70's are Curtis's (by far the best, but I might be biased), Moore's and Devereux. There were a couple of brands that came and went during the late 70s but I can't recall the names. Paging retired kipper magnate Tony Curtis in Ecuador who is an avid reader of these forums.

Me says Manx tap water is perfectly drinkable. Wife says it smells like swimming pools and wants kids to drink Volvic, bottled water from across, etc. Who is right?

That's just for the processing costs. Add an immigration lawyer's time (you only get one throw of the dice, so you have to roll a 6), plus a costly but ridiculously easy English language exam & knowledge of UK/IoM exam & you're looking at £4k easily.

The fact that the latest Brexit blue-black Isle of Man passports have UNITED KINGDOM PASSPORT embossed on the laminate photo page would be enough to convince any competent border official that our passports were actually made in Turkey in the snide football shirt & Rolex sweatshops.

Morning and evening flights to/from Dublin would be very handy for middle/Far East destinations. A decent international connection with a reliable One World carrier. Their current mid-afternoon slot isn’t very helpful, and misses all the Istanbul, Doha, Abu Dhabi & Dubai hub connections.

A lidl or an Aldi Waitrose We've got a cracking Japanese restaurant, which is fucking expensive but always fully booked. Now we need some similarly standard offerings from the following cuisines: Korea Lebanon Turkey Argentina/Brazil steakhouse Persian We could also do with a proper Chinese hotpot restaurant and an Indian that doesn't just cater for rugby club pissheads. -

I got away with a speeding ticket on Sunday heading into Kirk Michael. Was given a ticking off only. Ich spreche kein Deutsch, though my great grandfather was from East Prussia, so that might have been a factor.

Slightly off topic, but didn't want to start a new thread: I'm flying with Logan Air to Manchester on Thursday morning, and then onwards to Dubai with Emirates three hours later. I will only be carrying hand luggage. Is there any way of connecting between flights without going through security in Manchester? I remember doing it years ago with FlyBe-Etihad, but I think that was a codeshare & pre-Covid.
