  1. Oh come on, not listen to themselves you have to be joking right?
  2. They provide airtime, but work to the civil service brief, so play their part in trying to keep the illusion of a democracy. And as to stu I don't pay to have airtime 'filled', I want to be challenged, informed and enriched by radio so quality output is the only justification for a subvention, but all Manx radio is cheesy jocks bad music and wall to wall adverts.
  3. Have a look. It's all there for you to see. Potentially lucrative business too and already getting decent traction. That sounds familiar, a bit like that slackbladder who was talking up that manxradiott365 bollocks.
  4. The answers are fucking obvious. Take away the subvention and thus ensure financial and editorial independence. Sack all the bald old has-beens and halfwits and employ non halfwits who look healthy. Play better music.
  5. The manx radio extension cost fucking loads, so every wall better be a work of fucking genius.
  6. Is this the guy Manx Radio staff get hot under the collar about and refer to 'being escorted from the building by the police' and the source of any negative comment on here or elsewhere? No. that's a real shame, surely everyone deserves a second chance.

  8. Egaming and bitcoin are runaway legit if you put them up against some of our payroll sector.
  9. If only steam packet staff spent as much time communicating with their customers as they do bickering with anonymous forum posters.
  10. Whether the route is viable, blah blah etc, you think they could at least improve their pathetic communications and customer service and according to staff on the ground they already know that the manannan will be out of service for at least another two days but have they told travellers this in sufficient time for them to change onward travel.
  11. Well I have never had any issue with EasyJet, even booked flights by their mobile website and that is my preference, it might be that you as a regular steam packet user check out as a logged in user where as my booking was as a guest user.
  12. I would have Chrome over the steam packet any day, if they do not support the worlds most popular browser then they should at least tell people up front with a notice on the website and not have a shitty attitude on the phone when a customer presents what appears to be a known issue.
  13. Tried to book tickets yesterday via website twice and got an error each time, after wasting twenty minutes keying all the reservation information in and passenger names etc I rang up the reservations line and reported an error and expected to be able to at least be able to book with them. I did not expect to have a very unpleasant lady tell me I did not have an error and there was absolutely nothing wrong with the website and that it was my fault for using the wrong browser (Chrome as used by around 60% of the web) I persisted and sent them an email with a screenshot of the error (a server error not javascript) and she advised that her supervisor would call me to book the tickets at web rates otherwise she was going to charge me £30 more. Over a day later and no call back. Have managed to book now via an old windows machine after two further attempts, no way I am going to try and book with them ever again, only did not fly as I realised one of my kids passports was out of date and was not time to get a replacement not going to make that mistake twice.
  14. The Scouts is a militaristic movement the kids expect that they might die in the cause of queen and country, so no biggy. All the same am I wrong in thinking that the scoreboards used to be taken down outside of race week, the structure is not designed to be permanent.

    Lazaretto

But they don't play him on Manx Radio so old people and the mentally ill are more aware of cheesy one hit wonders and hasbeen second rate 90's pop acts such as Ace of Bass.
  16. As a student I hosted a party of visiting Ukrainian politicians including the then Mayor of Kiev, he wore Armani suits and was a complete party animal / womaniser who had a very direct line with the ladies 'you come to my room and drink vodka!'. The eastern / rural representatives wore cheap brown russian suits and only wanted to talk about tractors which sadly I did not know enough about. It was obvious they held a very negative view of western culture and they hated the Mayor of Kiev in particular, so much so that they would act like school children and turn their head away everytime he spoke and tried to keep physically distant at all times which created some great comedic moments. That was over 10 years ago and I doubt much has changed.
  17. No. Saw him in action lots of times. Watching someone shagging up Marine Drive, there's a word for that. Sounds more like a story he made up to cover up why a single man had a drawer stuffed with ladies knickers.

  19. Hermes, are the freelancers, my child's birthday present was delayed over 2 weeks because they 'lost it', I contacted the sender and demanded a replacement, they informed me that they no longer had that item in stock though would replace with a more expensive alternative, needless to say the sender shot a rocket up Hermes UK and the following day the original item was 'left on my doorstep'.
  20. If you get it fresh, it is superb, though occaisionally even when its been delivered that morning it can be a past its best already. Still better than the Tescos stuff.
