  1. Some of the workers down there say the biggest thing holding them back is the horse trams and there is a push for them not to run at all in the next 18 - 24 months, so they can actually crack on and get things finished. The progress on Queens Prom has been glacial as they've been held back by having to accommodate the trams. Time to say enough is enough and sack them off for at least 2 years.
  2. I'm hearing they're going to pull the plug on the horse trams early this year so they can actually crack on and get some work done.... it's about time! Harmer claims they're still only 9 weeks behind too! Likely story
  3. Certainly based on the content they put out from 'Broadcasting House' they don't appear to be using top end equipment. It's more hospital radio than national broadcaster
  4. When was the last time Manx Radio had a new presenter for one of their main shows? It's all the same dross just resculpted to a new format. It's well past time that all of their slots were. It's old, it's tired and it's losing money as fast as it's losing listeners!
  5. It was the same with the expensive refurbishment of Ballure Viaduct on the MER. The scaffolding was being put up even before Tynwald had signed it off. Their argument is that it's essentially already been signed off in the annual budget. But it would be good to see Tynwald kick out one of these needless schemes for a change
  6. Seems they've found the password to the MyProm website
  7. It's fascinating that this one particular politician has generated 73 pages of content
  8. He's Father of his own self important position
  9. I'm really not sure the Isle of Man Electorate vote for people because of their policies. Well perhaps in niche situations where perhaps someone feels they have been wronged and Candidate A. says they will stand up for them. I think people generally vote for people who they know or are family friends.
  10. With no trams back on Loch Prom they could loop the tracks round the roundabout and send the horse back from whence it came.
  11. To be fair to Rob C he's working with the demands of the Onchan electorate. Has anyone been to Onchan recently? They're mental!
  12. I thought they'd been told to stop using YouTube. The 'how to lay concrete and train tracks' video didn't exactly work out too well!
  13. They seem to have a wrecking crew who are able to pull up the road. But nobody that knows how to lay the new road.
  14. Not reopening the can of worms that is the subject of how long the work is taking, but surely it's not too much to ask for them to keep the public informed?
  15. It seems that Broadway is going to be closed for five weeks https://www.energyfm.net/cms/news_story_595143.html It would be nice if the 'MyProm team' could be arsed to update their social media or website. It's not been updated in 3 weeks. The last time Harmer and Co. got their arse kicked by Bettison, Callister and Robertshaw they were full of apologies and promises that the work sites wouldn't be more than 400m and that communication would be greatly improved... what a load of shite that turned out to be!!
  16. The empty offices at the Sea Terminal would be perfect for them.
  17. Brilliant. With Manx Radio's massive C.£1m budget we can sign them up! Interesting comment from Juan Turner on his recent interview with Paul Moulton, sounds like another privately funded station aimed at an older audience may be on the way.
  18. Energy make it work from a much more humble studio in Tromode... but then they don't have open access to the taxpayers chequebook! The Energy breakfast presenter does a decent job. There are a couple of presenters on 3FM who do a decent job too. To be honest it's worth a gamble. It can't be much worse than it is now!
  19. Rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. What's needed up there is a shed load of P45s, closing down the ridiculous 'Broadcasting House' and a downsizing to a more suitable location. Plenty of empty government owned office space they should be working out of. This guy would be a great replacement for all of the daytime presenters. He even has loads of hospital radio experience so would fit right in!
  20. He was probably just emotional being in Iceland, home to the oldest surviving parliament in the world. Dating all the way back to 930 is quite an achievement!
  21. Great. What's the number for the newsroom? I'd like to tell them how great Energy FM is compared to the dross on the Nation's Station.
  22. I didn't realise you're from Foxdale! Explains a few things!
  23. The Island is a much more diverse place these days. Not everyone shares the same few strands of dna
  24. Have the plans for the cinema and Travel Lodge fallen through?
  25. The danger is also increased by the way the tram is on the wrong side of the road.
