This farce shows Tynwald up to be a bunch of self preserving idiots, who are proving more and more how inept and corrupt they are. They and their top officers just keep on taking more and more whilst achieving less and less. Wage increases for most sectors are still being kept at a very low level, which is leading to difficulties recruiting in most sectors and yet they still refuse to accept any form of reform to their own pay and conditions. Every MHK bar one has a departmental pay uplift, and this is spreading into Leg-Co as well now. The whole system is proving how corrupt it is more and more, and I think that like most people on this Island, the outcome of the Lisvane debate had a guaranteed outcome before it even started. A so called Government, that oversees such problems for its population should hang its head in shame !!

This lot don't understand the meaning of democracy let alone uphold it, an affront to the people of the Island.

These craft are just not suited to the Irish sea as keeps getting proven ! If the user agreement didn't make the SP have one and Gov't didn't keep on letting them know they were actively looking for a replacement ferry company, then the SP might be tempted to invest in a second conventional ferry. Why exactly would planning turn down an entrepreneur who was prepared to spend his own cash to improve the infrastructure of a run down building, and also provide a few much needed jobs. This Island is dying on its feet and insane decisions like this can only accelerate the downward spiral we are in. No small wonder that people are leaving the place in there droves. SHAMEFULL.

The one seemingly genuine attempt to curb MHK and MLC's Wage bill was effectively kicked into the long grass by HQ, with yet another select committee. By the time this body of self preserving leeches come to any conclusions this matter will once again be forgotten. PK told members they should lead by example, HQ expanded this to widen PK's motion to the entire Civil service which was not what PK stated, his motion as read out was concerning MHK/MLC's earnings only and yet again goes to demonstrate just how out of touch these people are with the people who voted for them. Get rid of Leg-Co and show you are serious about preserving our dwindling reserves before producing more madcap taxes to further cause severe hardship to many of your electorate.
