  1. And there you go .. st georges survive, marown relegated. The abandonment at Corinthians was pretty key in that with time remaining. At least the FA will have got what they wanted though.
  2. Noticed the first of the two Heathrow flights was cancelled yesterday (the one at 8am rather than 945am). Probably combined both sets of passengers onto the 9.45am given the stupidity of having two flights so close together as I pointed out when they set this up.
  3. Wow. That's a massive difference in cost. Hard to see why people would use it when it's that expensive.
  4. Had a look on the roundhouse website to see how much it was to book a badminton court. £20 an hour, and you only get 50 minutes of actual playing time as they use 10 minutes to set up / remove equipment. Seems expensive. I don't recall it used to be that much at the NSC when we used to go there.
  5. At the same time, if you get 150 cars, you get more people on the boat = more spent in the shop / cafe / bar / restaurant too.
  6. You're correct! The FA allowing the result to stand as it was with 8 minutes to go & Corinthians on top at the time is having a massive effect on the relegation race. Be furious if I supposed Marown / Union Mills.
  7. Thankfully you can do that on the app now too
  8. And more than 80 that died after being warned otherwise too.
  9. I can transfer money in seconds using my mobile phone. Few minute job. Or I use my petrol. Potentially pay for parking. Walk to the branch. Queue. Identify myself. Give them the details where I want the money to go. Go home. All of which has to be done on a Saturday morning only, as the branch isn't open after I finish work. An hour or two job which can only be done on one day of the week. It's quite obvious which one is better for me.
  10. Time to get into the 21st century. Snooze you lose.
  11. And yet, here you are back again to continue to peddle the tosh
  12. They won't. As they "don't like technology" and would rather count out £50 worth of shopping in £1 coins and 10ps that use a card / phone to pay.
  13. Perfect! Wish Shoprite had invested in that years ago. Self-Service / scan & go is great and saves me loads of time waiting for the geriatrics who can't find their card to get through the manned tills. I've only been in the new store once, I felt disappointed also. Felt like there was 'less' stuff than I was expecting it to have. With the big hole down the middle of the aisles felt a bit odd when the aisles aren't that big to start with.
  14. https://jobs.theguardian.com/job/8957118/information-commissioner/ £130k Information Commissioner job going is the latest to be added to the endless pile of funding. Advertised in the UK as well rather than over here.
  15. It bothers me that there's no ambition or drive to get people to use the boat rather than the airlines from the Government / IOMSPC. As an 'arms length' company now, all the money that comes in directly benefits us which isn't the case if people choose to use Loganair / Aer Linus / Easyjet. There is absolutely no incentive out there for me to choose to use the boat rather than the airlines. Aer Lingus - Avios Points to be used to pay for future flights. Easyjet - Due to be being a regular flying I'm part of their free 'flight club' membership allowing flexible changes etc. Loganair - 'Clan Points' that can be used towards free flights. Steam Packet - Zero loyalty scheme of any kind that would encourage me to want to sit on the boat for a few hours when I can fly to Liverpool in 20 minutes (for a cheaper cost on Easyjet). Instead you get to pay sky high prices and with nothing to show for it. I had to take the car away last weekend for a business trip for a total of 36 hours and it just under £300 return! That price just does not compute in my head as being affordable or encouraging for most. The Government should have something in place to encourage me to want to go on the boat instead of the plane, but there just isn't anything. Maybe one of the many public sector employees could get them to come up with something ?
  16. https://www.manxradio.com/news/isle-of-man-news/160-patients-written-to-after-medical-records-found-in-ex-manx-care-employees-home/ Lessons have been learnt etc. etc. etc.
  17. I was due on yesterday evening's cancelled Liverpool sailing. Went up to Heysham overnight instead, despite the captain saying it was gale force 8 in the Irish Sea, the Manxman handled it amazingly. My car was also intact on arrival.
  18. Misread the article! Will amend.
  19. The Tea Junction closing next year when the lease is up..
  20. Digital Isle my Arse
  21. Peel defo couldn't. They said they thought all practises were affected.
  22. No one could get through to their doctors surgery at 8am today due to the clocks going forward an no one had changed the time in the system (so it still thought it was 7am). Resolved in about 30 minutes. The Government is just continually inept. Basic thing that someone should be responsible for twice a year. It's quite baffling they haven't actually got the system linked to an NTP server that would update the time automatically, but that probably asking too much. Allows them to hire someone to do it manually I guess. Useless.
  23. Yeh always seem like a good set of lads..played Peel yesterday morning and were due to play St John's yesterday afternoon.
  24. The little picture on MR Facebook showcasing Tesco 'local products' this morning has Fynoderee Gyn on the shelf at £42. It's £37 on the shelves in Shoprite.
