  1. Stu Peters Several points that I would like you to respond to re the 'NED appointments' to the IOM Airport Board. The appointments being Lorna Jack (Chair of HIAL), Chris Holliday (NED HIAL) & John McGlynn ('entrepreneur'). You will recall that on Oct 25 2023 you wrote 'There were six interviewed I believe, all of whom were highly qualified. So much so that we selected three rather than two. To be clear, Gary Cobb had no part in the interviews or selection.' Interesting to read your claim that Gary Cobb had 'no part in the interviews or selection'. At the last HIAL board meeting that Gary Cobb, Lorna Jack & Chris Holliday attended on 30 June 2022, Lorna Jack (Chair) wished all the best for the future as he was leaving HIAL. You also wrote on Nov 30 2023 'Three hugely impressive NEDs with significant relevant expertise appointed at a cost of maybe just £10k per year total' A proposed 12 meetings a year @£300 a meeting, amounts to £10,800. However, given the fact that none of these NEDs live on the Island (two in Scotland, the other in Leeds), there are clearly additional travel costs etc etc. Am I correct? Then this comment March 6 2024 'We have some HIAL (or ex-HIAL) people on the shadow board, who understand better than most about running small local/regional airports' You clearly have not read the latest ridiculous HIAL airport charges being implemented. HIAL have obviously no understanding whatsoever of running a successful airport. Here's a link for your information: https://www.hial.co.uk/hial-group/general-aviation-4/1 The same fees also apply to Barra (a beach)! https://www.hial.co.uk/downloads/file/803/barra-airport-general-aviation-charges-effective-1-april-2024 Farcical!
  2. Oh ... you mean the usual old chestnut trotted out by Cob & Co when they're unable to provide a credible explanation. It goes along the lines of ... it's a requirement of the CAA! Unfortunately this isn't always exactly correct.
  3. How very strange, Stu. Is it your memory that's failing? I, too, remember all those vacuous promises that you made!
  4. Not sure where Hooper is getting his information from as online appointment booking is not available at Peel.
  5. NATs generated problem: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/gatwick-airport-delays-air-traffic-control-b2461271.html
  6. Worth a read to understand the background: https://www.nam.ac.uk/explore/conflict-Palestine Two sides to every story .... in particular the involvement of Jewish terrorists!
  7. Having a fully qualified boss in charge of ATC also engenders respect from other ATC 'team' members, demonstrating an ability to step in to cover whenever necessary.
  8. I'll bet that the patients on the 07:00 Liverpool will be well impressed! Shambolic!
  9. It would be interesting to hear Rachel Glover's views, given her covid experience with Ashford the master shredder!
  10. Exactly. Another good reason for not selecting candidates for interview based on such websites.
  11. Along with plenty of people that are economic with the truth about their qualifications and experience!
  12. But, in the UK the elderly also receive an annual heating allowance (not means tested). There is also single person occupancy rebate on council tax payment - no such rebate on the IOM.
  13. Does anyone know what happened to the advertised positions for two executive members to join the Board of Advisors at the Airport? Or, have the CS now quietly swept these positions under the carpet? https://www.gov.im/news/2023/jul/28/isle-of-man-airports-board-of-advisors-seeks-two-new-executive-members/
  14. Not sure why we need these continual updates. All such info is available on several websites eg Flightradar etc etc etc
  15. How long ago was that? I've been several times recently and have found the food and service both excellent.
  16. Yes, still going on. The first weekend ie 02/03 September very successful. Less so on 09/10 due to adverse weather conditions. One pilot that I spoke to couldn't believe why more encouragement wasn't given to GA, given that crew & passengers spent money on the Island while here.
  17. Incorrect. There is a 'forum' for several airports. The post re the FOI request was posted on the IOM forum of NW Air News.
  18. IOM Freedom of Information > Search > Easyjet Open Request re. the punctuality of the evening flights LGW-IOM-LGW

  20. Interesting post on NW Air News: For anyone who is interested, I have had a Freedom of Information response published in relation to EZY punctuality during June and July. There is some shocking data in there. The Airport Director has tried to avoid publishing the most damning numbers, but a review has been requested and I feel sure the data will be published, in due course.
  21. I have read all of the above. Given that all we hear from the Airport Director are comments containing the words 'third party' and 'arms length' to excuse the obvious problems at the Airport, could someone tell me exactly what he IS actually responsible and accountable for?
  22. Moderator … these unhelpful comments re the aircraft at Bradda need deleting for obvious reasons!!!
