  1. The EVs racing should make animal noises. Different animal for each vehicle. Roaring lions, bleating goats, whooping chimps etc.
  2. Were they colouring in the big balloon? It's cool, but would literally take one person a couple of days max to set up.
  3. Doesn't that cover pretty much everything nowadays? Periods, Gaza, etc. Meanwhile what most people would agree is the most important matter at the moment, Govt expense and incompetence is pretty much ignored.
  4. Turns out even if another 15,000 people wanted to move here, we couldn't even process their visa applications anyway. https://www.manxradio.com/news/isle-of-man-news/number-of-visa-applications-increases-five-times-in-six-years/ Interesting to see the uptick in applications though. I'm guessing they are mostly Asian gaming employees.
  5. I quite liked Rio's. Considering it was an all you can eat buffet, depending on your appetite, one man's expensive is another man's cheap.
  6. Except they do sort of. I can't remember what vaccine it was exactly, but for some interesting exotic disease I needed. I got a prescription to pick it up and then was supposed to take it to the Doc to administer. It had a use by date of only a week or so and I couldn't get the Doc's appointment, so I just ended up giving it to myself.
  7. True. A turbo is easier to get easy big gains by tuning the ECU. Some of the 'performance' diesels have these as standard from the factory too. They go like stink, but sound terrible as standard unless the 'active audio' exhaust is working.
  8. I was in Berlin a few years ago and there were a load of 'boy' racers dragging these and Audis. Ironically it sounded like the battle of Britain.
  9. Sort of. A sporty exhaust on a sporty car will make a difference to power. Its all about making the exit of gases more efficient and less restricted. Together with getting more air and fuel into the engine, through less restrictive air filters and tinkering with the ECU and fuel pump/injectors. Sticking a big exhaust on a 1 litre Fiesta is just going to make the conversion of petrol into noise more efficient. Agreed on the V8 though. But a V6 does love to sing. This might be the only thing that you and @Stu Peters might agree upon.
  10. I'm guessing we couldn't just go balls out and host a Group B festival. Of course not racing (but maybe a little bit).
  11. Yeah, but it's not very fashionable is it? Ukraine and Syria definitely need to fire their marketing departments. I'd be genuinely interested to hear the Palestinians view point if they saw drag queens campaigning for them. Would they laugh or cry?
  12. Not particularly. Just at an attempt to remind those who seem so supportive of the LGBT+ cause that there would appear to be a slight conflict of interest with their new virtue signal of choice. Do you have any opinions on the city destroying munitions the Russians have been using in Ukraine, or Syria for that matter? I'm sure you don't have the time nor inclination to review any of my previous comments on Israel or Palestine, but I can assure you I'm no fan of Israelis. I am however a fan of irony.
  13. Were any of the entrants straight and/or living the sex that their chromosomes determine? I can't imagine the majority of the entrants would be welcomed in Gaza.

  15. They only 'un-closed' one end of the Mt Murray back road on Saturday which I found kind of amusing. I turned in off Cooil Road but when I got to the farms near the Golf Club the Road Closed barriers were still up. They had stages there twice that day, I think they just didn't bother opening it up properly between the stages.
  16. The irony of course is that men in general are moving further and further away, not closer, to Nietzsch's idealised future superman. He'd be horrified by what has become of the vast majority of us over the last quarter century.
  17. To some extent yes. I'm a big fan of Nietzsch. Throughout my life I have partaken in many activities that most people see as dangerous. Personally I always try to go through extra lengths to mitigate the risks and see myself doing 'dangerous things safely'. This can be extra knowledge, training, skills, equipment or fitness, also always knowing when to bail. I have personally seen many people injure themselves badly and some even die because of stupid decisions. I have even rescued a few people from situations they have gotten themselves into due to poor knowledge, preparation, equipment, skills or just general stupidity. Honestly I've ended up in life or death situations more times than I care to remember, where one wrong decision would lead to a terminal outcome. I'm still here, so either I'm very very lucky or a Nietzscheian Übermensch. But on the flipside, I have ended up in a couple of bad positions due to my own bad decisions and I will freely admit that I have been responsible for these - although I have managed to ultimately rescue/save myself thus far from my own occasional stupidity. Luck does of course come into it too.
  18. I did say partially... but yes a significant other reason is the profiteering by the Legal industry, then the greed and lack of responsibility of the general public.
  19. Yes. Our litigious society is partially due to the fact that a significant portion of the population are idiots. Health & Safety and general nannying has ensured that many people whose own stupidity would have killed them off years ago, survive longer and then end up breeding and voting. Survival of the fittest is no longer applicable and the evidence would suggest this is in fact leading to devolution.
  20. The vast majority of people who attend this are those who require coffee cups to tell them 'Caution Hot' or bags of peanuts 'May contain nuts'. Do you honestly think they can read a tide table or wear appropriate footwear? I went out there on Wednesday (I've landed on it a couple of times but never walked) I bumped into a Coastguard who was prepping and he said they've had people turn up in high heels before. The causeway is actually surprisingly sketchy the 'path' is very rocky, bumpy and slippy. I'm sure they must have at least a few ankle or leg injuries each time.
  21. No surprise really. They'd need to start operating from it at least a couple of months before TT to get rid of any teething issues before the busiest time of the year.
  22. Shrinkflation has been going on forever. I'm sure the chocolate bars of my youth are about half the size now. Have you seen a modern wagon wheel? It's a skateboard wheel. The cost of living crisis has accelerated it recently though. But no one wants smaller sausages.
  23. They'll then want a bail out if the weather is bad.
  24. Probably the meek. They generally have a tough time of it.
