    TT 2022 ??

Well whoever did the risk assessment here (Casey's) must have been aware that there have been 5 "offs" here including 2 'fatals' . Previously there was a rock strewn gulley ( initial point of impact of the 2 fatalities )adjacent to the raised curb which has been now filled in with granite and the bank cut back. I have ventured to suggest on a number of occasions to the powers that be that air fencing would minimise the risk to riders without success and as a result take the view that to continue to marshals to be complicit in failing to consider rider safety. Just saying

I know of a property ,Onchan, Rates=£2957.86 ( Gov £1,739.94 , LA £1,217.92) occupied by 2 individuals . Why not be honest and call it a "Property Tax" . just saying

I don't doubt that you joined a bunch of "chavs" rubbernecking " at the site of a crash who seem to derive some form of sexual(?) gratification from the experience . If there were 20-30 ( out of the many thousands that attend the races) at the site of an "off'' ( which frankly I doubt) then your assumption is flawed as you and perhaps many of the others were clearly not from the motorcycling fraternity . The only "FACT " is that for some reason , best known to yourself , you have an irrational hatred of the motorcycling community and are happy to spread unsubstantiated stories in a feeble attempt to whip up hatred . Hope this helps but if not then just fuck off again

To claim that " bikers come for the deaths and crashes, the worse the better is absolute bollocks . There are always some , like yourself , who seem to get some perverted thrill from horrific crashes and then banging on about it or have to go to the scene looking for crash bits as souvenirs . You are sick one and to making spurious allegations about me and the motorcycling fraternity entitles me to say "do yourself a favour and fuck off , and when you get there just fuck off again you creepy perverted twat" Hope this helps but doubt it , so just fuck off again.

Fair point about hacking off local marshals, many of whom do all practice and race sessions . In relation to safety last MGP a CSM advised race control that there were insufficient marshals and "in the event of an incident there may be no marshal to go to the aid of a fallen rider". Racing continued. I also remember when we were below minimum numbers and were told that the riders would go as it was only a 'sighting lap'. I have raised a track safety issues many times in the past , it will be interesting to see if the matter has been addressed this year.

    TT 2022 ??

It is going according to the plan of the DfE/Motorsport Team/ACU events ltd in that the Isle of Man TTMA( with anywhere between 230-680+marshal 'members') has been taken over lock stock and barrel by a new company , TTMA ltd with 2 'members' ("ratified by the DfE")without holding the EGM to do so or an AGM . This has miffed some older members of the original IOM TTMA but it gives the Motorsport Team/ ACU events ltd/DfE total control without having to consult or consider any matters raised by marshals and the ability to "sack" any marshal who fails to adopt /endorse/ applaud any decision ( "without being given a reason and with no appeal"). It remains to be seen how many existing marshals will be happy to volunteer their services , we have been down to below minimum numbers in previous years and , on the mountain ,the sacking of a well respected CSM (for expressing disappointment at the MGP format ) by the CoC ( a leader , some say they would only follow out of idle curiosity😉) perhaps wasn't a good idea. Just saying

    TT 2022 ??

Fair comment , call me an old cynic but wouldn't be surprised if they offered to marshal at the grandstand , if they choose the mountain , on the scaffolding I salute them. I would not want to be paid , my motives are selfish ,I get the best seat in the house, I know some who race , I meet up with real friends every year and have a great time and know if it all kicks off they will be there for me . All I ask is that the self entitled CS's/ ACU Events/etc don't expect me to massage their egos and adopt/endorse/applaud all of their opinions and just f*ck off and leave us alone . I know marshals are free and they have to pay the chaps picking up the breakdowns , replacing the one way signage and cones on the mountain but why not let the marshals off first ?

I have no idea who Jane Corlett is , other than she is in control ( with one other person) of the new TTMA and has been gifted/ stolen(?) all the assets of the old IOM TTMA (otherwise how would she know how many marshals "had trickled in" , the new company was established 17/12/21 ?). "Members" of the old IOM TTMA have not been consulted about the transfer of assets and are still awaiting notification of the date of the adjourned EGM. ....... a forlorn hope perhaps it would seem as the 'powers that be' seem to make it up as they go along . The 25% of 'island marshals' may well attend a far greater number of practice/race sessions than those from across and beyond . As far as I'm aware no correspondence has been entered into with marshals to establish their willingness to marshal this year (some of whom sign on by "snail mail " rather than on line). In fairness the CoC advised a marshal on 2/3/22 that there were more than adequate numbers of marshals ,he may be right? Just saying

    TT 2022 ??

It may be true that a"record number of marshals" are on course to train given that the IMC training is only valid for 3 years . I would venture to suggest that the majority of those who marshalled previously do/ did not not have a valid IMC "badge". Given the numbers of marshals required it would be interesting to know how many marshals are fully trained and will be trained in time for TT and the total number of marshals required to cover all the marshalling points for every practice and race ( many marshals can only volunteer to marshal a few sessions). Just saying

    TT 2022 ??

You may be right about social media . That said one could argue that "Jane Corlett " , an individual , according to the EGM ,"ratified by the DfE ", would say that she was pleased with the numbers of marshals signing up 😂 , perhaps she could have provided numbers ? Has she (under the direction of the CoC /ACU/ Motorsports Team) , been instructed to 'grind an axe' 😉 as a lack of sufficient marshals could scupper the racing? Just saying

It had to happen , law of averages , finally a post of yours I agree with.😂 The big cheese (of the grand fondu😉) , Paul Phillips has been quoted as wanting to reduce the numbers of riders , bin off the sidecars and the MGP. Just saying

    TT 2022 ??

The COC was overheard to say at the EGM on 2/3/22 that they had more than sufficient marshals on the mountain which surprised me but to contradict the man would scupper the chances of one enjoying the bracing rain mist and cold until after 11.00 pm (on occasions) on sector 9/10. Just saying

    TT 2022 ??

Meanwhile the EGM of 'Isle of Man TTMA ltd ' has been adjourned and no date set however the new "TTMA ltd" have already "acquired" the details of marshals from the' Isle of Man TTMA ltd' and sent an email to all the marshals today giving them until 11/3/22 to ask them to delete said details . It may be interesting to see how this is viewed by marshals who previously had a right to be a "member" of a TTMA and now had that right removed as there are only 2 members permitted and if they choose to marshal have to abide by the ACU's 'code of practice requiring them to adopt /endorse / applaud the opinions of the ACU/Paul Phillips . Failure to do so will result in being sacked without being told the reason and with no right of appeal ( according to the M & A's ). Funny old world

I suspect that the documents referent were those identified by an attendee at the last EGM who disputed that there were only 230 "members" as when he was involved in the management of the organisation a few years back there were 680(?). His revelation was disputed and he was attacked by a 'voice at the back', who sounded a bit miffed, inferring he had acted illegally by having this information. The press release would seem to infer that the information was held illegally , I would take the view that it may have been merely copies of a membership list and the organisation had "lost" the originals. FWIW I would have kept my own file for my own protection and to prevent being misquoted/ blamed for the organisation's acts and omissions after my tenure had ceased. All a bit ironic as the new TTMA advises that it is entirely in order for them to acquire membership/marshals details from the old company without getting prior approval from said members marshals. Then again , in order to comply with the ACU's code of conduct marshals are not judged on their ability but by their sworn allegiance to the ACU and to endorse adopt and applaud all the decisions of the islands political masters and their CS appointees ( eg "motorsport team") who seem to have a totalitarian mindset which cannot comprehend or allow people to think differently. I have heard it said that the expression "Lions led by Donkeys" is an apt description of the TT/MGP marshalling situation . Just saying

I know someone ( a 'member' of the TTMA it's proposed to wind up) who spoke at the last EGM questioning why members had not been provided with the company's assets and liabilities He had to identify himself prior to speaking . For some reason he has not, to date, been notified of the reconvened meeting Funny old world Just saying

    TT 2022 ??

I was there , the first paragraph is correct. The meeting was presided over by the current directors who stated that Dr Allinson/ Gary Thompson/ Nigel Crennell were invited to attend (despite holding no position in the organisation) to perhaps answer questions in relation to the new proposed company Dr Allinson was invited to sit to the right of the top table , adjacent to the CoC and Mr Crennell, he declined and sat in with the rest of us . He did not contribute anything and made no comment, as did Gary Thompson (CoC). Mr Crennell on the other hand responded to to many questions/statements made by members with vague assurances about virtually everything and inferred that if the members did not accept his assurances and agree to the winding up of the old TTMA then they could be prejudicing the running of the TT . I would venture to suggest that the members present were not stupid/ naive and weren't prepared to take his word for his assertions without seeing the documentary evidence to back up his claims. It would be fair to say that those at the meeting would be in favour of retaining/modifying the existing TTMA 's M&A, allowing all marshals to be members and have voting rights rather than a promised 2 meetings a year to offer observations to the new ' management'. I look forward to the next EGM when hopefully the documentation will be made available , preferably before the meeting other than handed round ( a nice ploy by LG/CS , hoping for confusion and things going through on the nod...... excuse my cynicism). I've noted your post Rob and TBH I thought you may have attended last night but perhaps the invitation to attend was not extended to you.

Life Membership was , if memory serves ( £20 but didn't retain receipt😉) . If the company is wound up then the 'members' could be liable for the cost of that but to be fair we are told that a "declaration of solvency"has been signed ( not provided with documentary evidence to confirm). However given that it is proposed that " the new company has agreed to take over all of the current company's obligations and liabilities one wonders what the proposed 'liquidator' will do to 'earn' his fee. It was proposed that the new company would have 2 members with voting rights and 'marshals would be consulted'. Additionally "The new company and its members will be ratified by the Department (D f E ) , this has been denied by Rob Callister. No documentary evidence was provided at the EGM in relation to the assets/liabilities, A & M of the existing/ proposed new company. The meeting was adjourned and the documentary evidence requested will be provided prior to (hopefully) or at the next EGM.

Ten page "Updated Newsletter FAQ February 2021" ( assume the '21' a typo, FAQ=frequently asked questions) from the existing TTMA email out today . EGM to wind up the TTMA tomorrow @ 19.00 . Apparently the TTMA's records hold details of over 5,000 individuals but only 230 are 'members' with voting rights. just saying

I'd put it down to human nature ( "he's gone why can't we?"), the marshal at Sulby bridge stopped riders joining Mr Mercer and co ( as evidenced by the pic on the front of the local paper ). It would be interesting to know if Mr Mercer was on his own or in a group when he set off and if and how many other riders just 'tagged on' behind ( if they did and saw that Mr Mercers group were not led by a TM they should have stayed put in accordance with the Riders briefing). I have on one (solitary) occasion confirmed with Race Control that a stopped rider was retiring as opposed to making adjustments Some time later he wandered off (after having a brew, if memory serves) got on his bike and set off only to make it a couple of hundred yards down the road . On cold tyres he was an arrogant selfish menace who clearly thought the rules didn't apply to him. Reported him to race control .

In the past riders have returned to the grandstand , both ways, led by a Travelling Marshal under 'waved yellows'. If ,as Max has stated the briefing include this instruction then perhaps the CoC's instructions 'trumps' that of a marshal. I'm not apportioning blame , as I don't know the facts and as I stated earlier there were a number of factors/ mistakes that led to the incident and until/ unless the full facts are disclosed by the ACU we will not be in a position to apportion blame . ETA Sorry Max , just seen your post , I wasn't sure of what the Riders briefing included
