  1. How much is all this shit going to cost the ratepayers of Port Erin?
  2. Talking of the Prom it looks like even the latest concrete is cracking already!
  3. We could easily run a small airline for less than the £8.5m we currently waste on 'heritage railways'and it would have a much greater benefit to tourism! License the routes and control the fares. It can be done.
  4. Airlines don't "apply to operate" anything on the Isle of Man. Open Skies sees to that!
  5. The pink concrete on Loch Prom was a late addition by Starship Enterprise. Essentially it's a private jet landing strip so the Ultra High Networth individuals can land right on the Prom and disembark at the new Cultural Quarter before boarding a horse tram to Summerland and the MER to Ramsey where they'll board their private yacht from the new Queens Pier.
  6. Selected quartets? More like pissheads from Sam Webbs and Quids Inn vomming on the motorbike statue and shitting among the flower beds
  7. It's on or after the LegCo election (according to this).
  8. Incredible figures if true (and I'm very inclined to believe you). But then that's the price we all pay (once again) for the sheer incompetence of the DOI and its senior management. Interesting that they wish to discuss the cracking concrete in a separate meeting that is conveniently not released to the public... although a wet and windy weekend may allow time for FOI requests for those minutes. I've heard Harmer may be up for a move in the reshuffle (DEFA is what's rumoured) with Super Tim Baker apparently chomping at the bit to take over, Boot apparently moving to the vacant DHA role.
  9. Yes, some very interesting reading - notable mentions go to: Finally, surely the correct response to this should be "who the f*ck actually cares about the horse trams?" Just to confirm the whole scheme is all fur coat and no knickers - they want to ensure the cultural quarter (the part that serves no practical purpose to anyone) is completed on time!! Never mind the road and parking,
  10. Is that why you stopped listening then?
  11. Notice the rail track boys are back today as well. Funny how there seems to be a big push to get it ready for the loss-making horse trams! Shame the same urgency isn't shown the rest of the time!
  12. I gave Manx Radio another chance yesterday - what a mistake that was! Utter guff! It's just drivel and has no quality to it - the presenters ramble, the competitions are crap, and the adverts are unbearable and repetitive. Why are we funding this awful awful station to the tune of £1m+ per year?
  13. Government all over though. In 3 years time there won't be any review of this, there will be nobody held to account for these predictions, it's just the usual airy fairy BS spin that we have now all become so used to.
  14. It looks like they've abandoned the expensive Chinese Granite paving and instead are going for some grey block paving instead. Have to admit the UK guys they've got in to do it are cracking on with it at a rate of knots!
  15. We talk about 'pension commitments' just how much if a commitment is it? Why can't the scheme be left to fail like so many other private pension schemes. If it's going to become a choice between closing schools and hospital wards or paying the CS a pensions. It's the schools and hospitals that win everytime.
  16. What are they supposedly future proofing? Future proofing would be moving them to the Wild Life Park so they could continue to lose money along with the other animals there.
  17. If it truly is a one way ticket to an off island event and they don't come back then £350 is a bargain and we should send all senior DOI management!
  18. I notice it's called project of the year. Not result of the year.
  19. Something to do with nobody (except him) being qualified to hold a bus operators license
  20. Make sure you're sitting down when they announce the new "Douglas Horse Trams Sidecar TT".
  21. It's that time again where Alf has been burning the midnight oil ahead of another Manx Budget. I'm placing my bets on at least 5 mentions of 'Active Travel', the cost of the cruise pier to have increased from £11m to £17m, and more money to prop up the failing heritage railways. No increase in personal allowances [although we know the tax cap is going up to £200k]. Also possibly some kind of NI/Income Tax scam to 'sure up the health service'. The curve ball will be what moves he takes to plug the pensions blackhole - my money being on something that kicks the can down the road into 2022.
  22. Agreed. But I imagine they were keen to get it painted sooner than 5 -10 years from now! If I do remember the original plans that areas was supposed to be finished and done before TT 2019 so the owners probably got fed up of waiting
  23. The old RBS and Admiral House. Think they're both being painted or something
