  1. Great for the rest of the Island though. May just keep some of those northerners in the north. More time for them to raise money for the precious courthouse!
  2. That's a hilarious comment from old Albert... Too funny to reply to.
  3. Isn't this just a rehash of the failed Government initiative to get local traders listed on some kind of shop isle of man website? If this is the best idea that Manx Radio have then they should be closed down with immediate effect.
  4. it is a stupid concept, government workers running a commercial enterprise never works out well, you would think they would have learnt by now. I don't get it at all. I can't see that it does anything that isn't already done in at least a hundred other places? What is it? Why should I use it? How is it meant to make money? A new online directory, I wish I'd thought of that idea! www.google.com
  5. It's more the timing that's weird. Easter School Holidays 3 years in a row. Unlucky.
  6. A lot of good whining come overs too!
  7. Flybe don't even operate flights here, it's a franchise for Stobart Air. Stobart are doing just fine. The only Flybe plane that comes to the Island is once a week for Geneva - I think we could live without that if it went. The rumours I am hearing on the ground is that Stobart will be operating the flights in their own name from March 2018 and will have a Flybe code-share.
  8. Will the new port have a giant light switch for the last person leaving the Island to switch the lights off? Just thinking ahead to when the finances collapse.
  9. it can't be much worse than the current joke of a port which doesn't even accept freight!
  10. This sums up Manx Radio to a tee!
  11. The whole current format for Manx Radio needs to be scrapped. What is it actually supposed to be - some kind of news service for the Isle of Man Government and Saga FM, or some kind of current music radio station? It can never be both! The mix of weekend programming which wouldn't be out of place in the 1930's mashed up with current chart music really appeals to nobody. The old people complain about the 'thud thud thud' music, and younger people just switch off. Until they decide what they are meant to be then it will never be successful.
  12. It costs the IOMSPC £2.5 million a year to have it.
  13. Yes you do. https://www.theguardian.com/uk/2013/feb/08/dale-cregan-trial-final-moments
  14. What's the £16 million extension to Victoria Pier they mentioned? How does it work and what would it look like? Nice extension out to the Tower of Refuge with a nice Costa/Starbucks/Coffee Republic in the little castle!
  15. Can it have a link span attached to it?
  16. Stop being so positive! The Isle of Man has more 'less to do' than Orkney.
