Get people out of their cars - just for the short journeys mind. An option to walk/cycle without feeling constantly exposed to the stream of right foot heavy drivers and their vehicles wouldn't cost that much to implement and the health benefits would be huge.

Tip #1 Lower the average age (and the health costs), by stopping importing any more pensioners (15% UK population, now 27% IOM population).

Resurrecting an old thread: Albert where did you get these figures - I think they are totally incorrect. IOM digest gives Female population over 60 and male population over 65 as being 16,002 - which is 20.0% of the population. UK Key Population and Vital Statistics give the UKs Female population over 60 and male population over 65 as being 11,343,700 which is 18.7%.

 

We do have more pensioners (2%), but nothing like the disparity you are saying we have (12%).
