Jimcalagon Posted July 21, 2009 Share Posted July 21, 2009 Bobbie Bobster has it right - the astronauts had problems with moondust from the outside of their suits contaminating the inside of the lunar lander. It was highly oxidising and smelled of cordite. The new landers currently being designed will have airlocks to try and minimise the amount of dust getting into the crew compartments.
