Mintchip
I'm playing paintball for the first time on Saturday. It's been organized through work and sounds like fun. However, one of my sons thinks I'm going to get hurt and warned me that it may not be a good idea. Granted, I'm probably 20+ years older than the rest of the group, but figure I'd give it a go. You only live once, right? Any advice on the subject???

MilitantDogOwner
If you enjoy paintball you might want to try something called Airsoft. There is a great club out at Jurby who play every other sunday. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airsoft http://www.manxairsoftclub.co.uk/manxairsoftclub/ And heres the club I play at in the UK... http://teamsmd.blackaqua.com/sow/index.php

I don't know
We went early this year and one lady in our office is in her early 50’s and she loved it, she is now organising our next trip. Advice would be a couple of extra layers of clothes, a woolly hat and if possible football boots it will be slippery under foot, if your trigger happy it can get expensive. I won’t lie if you are hit at close range it can hurt, but you will be having such a great time you will only notice it later on. I guarantee you will enjoy yourself and let us know how it goes. Mintchip
Thanks for all the encouragement and words of advice!!! I will definetly report back afterwards. rod - It's being held at a commercial site in nearby (to me) New York state. Supposed to be well organized and we are having teams. Here's the website if you want to get an idea: http://libertypaintball-ny.com/ At work, one of my responsibilities is overseeing the lunch deliveries. I've threatened to carry a sign that says "NO LUNCH IF YOU SHOOT ME!"

Albert Tatlock
Great fun. I've had a few injuries now and again, usually through a paintball striking directly on my knee or elbow. Wear thick clothes, you can hide and roll around without getting brambles sticking in your bum too. And never ever take your goggles off, even if you are sweaty and need to scratch etc. Paintball executions at the 'end' for the most useless team member are the best fun. Never actually been done to the Manx site (We've sold most of our guns and only really play in the UK at the Rock site as all our gear is desert gear) but spoke to a few of the guys there and they sound like a switched on bunch who play hard but have a great time doing it.
