Deejay Denzel
Don't know if anyone has noticed, but if you view manxforums.com on the iphone.. at the bottom of the screen it gives you a link to download the IPB App which you then just add Manxforums community to the list. Great on the go! For more info.. Link
Declan
Can't be worse than the shitty lite version that we've been palled off with since the forum downgrade.
Declan
It's just the same rubbish interface as iPhone users have to put up with on Safari. I don't understand why, we have to endure a limited service now, when until a few months ago we got the same interface on the phone as on a desktop. Declan
It just depends on the forum settings, the forums's admins have just decided that iPhone users get the lite version.

Declan
How do I do that then? Safari defaults to the crap version, and the ap is the same version only in an ap.

Declan
Course there are I'd show you a screen shot but one of the interface problems is it won't let you upload. Or do pretty much anything.
Mr. Sausages
Nobody can upload at the moment. Also, only skankfaced clacks use their phone to browse the internet.
Declan
Nobody can upload at the moment. Oh I see, that was just one example, all the options at the top of the reply box is missing. If you quote it's bloat quote or nothing. And it's simple to fix
Bobbie Bobster
With respect to Mr Jobs, who seems to have taken time out from his busy schedule to join us here at Manxforums, I prefer Fake Steve's explanation. 1. All phones have this problem. 2. Our phone does not have this problem.
Declan
The problem is not with the phone it's with the forums's implimentation of the ipb software.
Last Ten
The problem is not with the phone it's with the forums's implimentation of the ipb software. Declan, is there a lite version of MF at all? I have asked this before and not had an answer. LT
Declan
Well, I'm sure they'd call it a bespoke interface especially for iPhones. But it's not like the old text only version. This is just the forum with all the functionality removed. The lite version had the same functions but you got there by clicking links. That would be valid because it would reduce bandwidth and speed stuff up. This doesn't have that benefit, it retains avatars for example (although these are random and not people's real avatars mines a series of coloured lines, not the Mark E. Smith one that appears elsewhere for example.) Also it's impossible to edit long posts, or quote a section from a large post, because of the fixed size box, which wasn't previously a problem. It's difficult to use links, or add images because the code needs to be added by hand. All this since the last time the forum was upgraded.
