Fossils
I saw lots of newts in ponds at Ballalheannagh Gardens in Glen Roy about 15 years ago. So far as I could tell they were teetotal.
Patrick
Wasn't Penfold in Dangermouse a newt?
Fossils
Wasn't Penfold in Dangermouse a newt? No, he was a hamster and didn't look anything like this newt................unless he was a master of disguise.
alibaba
I am amazed that there are Kingfishers here. I had no idea. Delighted to have been corrected. I also saw newts at Ballalheannagh Gardens, though I think they'd turned up on some water plants by mistake. Is that place closed now then? GD4ELI
All things are relative, but bird-watching around Ramsey harbour and up the river for 1 km or so can turn up some excellent photos and unexpected results. Of course MHK his very fluffy loveliness Shimmin f**ked up the protection of this area for future generations
spangle
Been a kingfisher frequenting the Mezeron corner of the harbour in Ramsey off and on for 12 months!
alibaba
This isn't just a scam to get me to go to Ramsey is it?
mannananscloak
Not at all alibaba. I've live in Ramsey and have been lucky to see it once, albeit a very fleeting glance when I hadn't got my camera. Others have had better luck like the chap who made this video. John
I used to see the Kingfishers on occasion in Derbyshire, when i lived in Derby and used to mountain bike to Burton on the canal. I did once see a Jay in Glan Maye, apparantly rare over here, but pretty common in the UK. I would have loved to see the Waxwings, never seen any, as always miss them. There was a flock in Onchan a few years ago. Got to agree there are some amazing places just out of town in Ramsey, love watching the Treecreepers at Ballaglass Glen.
