What was that? Gravel trodden into mud? Paving stones have been around for a few weeks! now, nothing glaringly unusual about them. The gravel can be changed if it becomes oil soaked or stirred up and added to. There are more important things to castigate our Govt for than Laxey station! We get given shit and appear happy to live among it. Can honestly say I've never seen any part of England that looks like Laxey Station. I've seen plenty of shitholes in England covered in gloomy tarmac - you know, like it used to be in Laxey station. It's ashame we'll never get a proper old school quaint English style village here - small, village green, quiet road with pub and church. We don't do quaint here though, its not England after all and we want our own identity - not actually sure how our towns and villages do differ from "faceless-English-dross" though. Most of our towns and large villages aren't what you'd consider to be overly attractive in comparison. Laxey station hasn't been particularly pleasant for years. It's much more pleasant now and incorporated into the village better via the square. The square does lack "something" in the middle though. Unless you want to radically alter the track alignment and replace the buildings and furniture entirely, it just comes down to surface and fixtures and fittings, like railings and tram poles. They are a distinctive feature of Laxey tram station. And the rough seats they have added emphasise that look.
