Stu Peters
One of the real benefits of having moved out to Santon a couple of months ago is that I can enjoy a bracing shower again. On Westmoreland Road the water pressure was pathetic, so I usually had a bath. But at the new place there's enough pressure to have a virtual jetwash. Question for you experts: why is that? I think the old place possibly had a cold water tank in the attic and I don't think the new place does - is that what makes the difference? Where does my water come from - Glencrutchery Road still? Is there a pumping station to get it up Richmond Hill? A chap wonders about such things at times.
finlo
You probably now have a Megaflow or similar which provides hot water at mains pressure as opposed to the old tank in the loft gravity Fed system.

Stu Peters
You probably now have a Megaflow or similar which provides hot water at mains pressure as opposed to the old tank in the loft gravity Fed system. It is a more modern boiler so that possibly explains the hot side. But the cold pressure seems so much higher, and I'm further from the water factory!
