Non-Believer
If they'd just put this "new" 30mph limit on the old Richmond Hill we could have saved millions. Of pounds, not lives. 1

Not that I'm aggressively against the 30 mph limit becoming permanent, but I do wonder if it's really necessary? and if so, how has one concluded that it is necessary? A 30 mph limit on Richmond Hill (especially heading up) is facile. 2

I think somebody has got hold of the wrong end of the stick. There is no way they will reduce the road to a permanent 30. Don,t forget where you read this. NoTail
Went up this afternoon in my van. Dropping down to 4th gear and the van struggled to maintain 30mph so ended up dropping to 3rd gear. Not good for the environment.

Annoymouse
It would be pointless having two lanes if it was to remain a 30 limit.

Kopek
most drivers will have to brake all the way down, bunching up increasing the likelyhood of a rear ender!

It was pointless reconstructing the road , it was just a very expensive vanity project , the fact that 'they' were unable to grasp the concept of water running downhill merely confirmed the incompetence of all concerned.
Kopek
I think what No Tail means is that he will still be doing 30 but in 3rd, higher revs, more fuel used, more CO2!
