I believe a Moot is a Gathering of Pagans on a Sacred Sabbath, is it not?

A moot is a Swede or a Turnip ( they change names in English depending on where you are from ). It’s also a mock trial or a debate.

Whatever victorian made up nonsense of druids and pagans you imagine has historic significance they just borrowed words and terms willy nilly and added totally incongruous things, and suckers bought it, and continue to buy it.

Its as real as Asterix.

And then North Americans appropriated it, turned it orange and green, commercialised it and made it bare no relationship to any real folk history or memory.

Sad, really. American cultural imperialism.

I found an Instructional Website that shows how to Carve a Turnip into a 'Moot':

I guess using North American Pumpkins is a Cheat in our Books.

You don't carve a turnip into a moot AFAIK, a turnip (moot) is carved into a lantern. ( I await a flaming )

So the word 'Moot' is Manx for 'Turnip' which is then Carved into a Lantern.

And No Flaming For You!  Come Back - One Year!
