But you're using it as an argument against trail riding,  you're also using the argument that because cycling doesn't use many food calories it's environmentally friendly. You can't have it both ways! 

Two strokes are a specialist motorcycle these days, basically race bikes, highly tuned and unreliable. They burn oil and are therefore polluting. 

How this has any relevance to your wish to ban trail riding is beyond me?

2 strokes are great fun.  Who cares about a bit of pollution? It's hardly like these irritating lot driving round is gas guzzling old 4 by 4s etc.

Whatever vision the Government has for the island's cyclists/ramblers etc, when it is 'completed' will it give the island any discernible advantage or unique selling point over what the UK currently has to offer?  I doubt it.  So, how will it increase our tourism numbers appreciably, if that is even its ultimate objective?   I regularly visit the Lake District, and have often wondered why would anyone bypass what that area has to offer just to get to the Isle of Man, and what we have to offer.  At the moment, there appears to be a Field of Dreams element to the Government's thinking - Build it, and they will come.

So why do they sit for 30 minutes at Mines Road (by the cafe) every sunday morning with engines running and feel the need to rev them up every 10 seconds. Do these bike have no way of restarting of the engines are stopped. They do themselves no favours with the locals.

In addition these people are not burning fuel and causing pollution with the justification of actually achieving something. They are doing it for fun.

I’ve never ridden a new EFI 2 stroke so can’t comment on them, but on the old ones you’d need to rev when stationary to stop the spark plug fouling up, idling is the worst thing for a 2 stroke engine.

Fairly sure they all have electric starts now though, so no excuse to leave them running for 30 mins.

Road Tax doesn't cover all the damage that's done when they go 'off piste. Road Tax doesn't cover the environmental damage. Road Tax doesn't cover all the two stroke fumes and the noise.

Its outdated, hooliganism and should be stopped.

The visiting ones, the ones that will make special trips just to come green laning over here? Generally making use of local accommodation, local eateries, local fuel suppliers and local bike shops for spares?

If nobody uses the trails, they cease to exist.

I think you're beginning to let the chip on your shoulder persuade you that your arguments are logical and reasoned. They are neither. 

Live and let live fella! Cyclists are a fucking nuisance and often very disrespectful to other road users and arrogant, cycling is more often than not a leisure activity. Does that mean they should be banned? Ofcourse not, I would never dream of suggesting that. 

I think you just need to be more tolerant of people who choose to do different things than you.
